I second this, unless you happen to be such a person that also attaches a monetary figure to the time you spend on cooking. But even then, slow-cooker.
Multiply by 30 days and you’re spending $1200/month on food. It’s still $900 if you only eat three meals per day.
We (a family of four) spend $800-900 per month at the grocery store and that includes everything we can buy there - paper towels, soap, toilet paper, dog food, etc.
I can’t justify the cost of the prepped meals here in the US. Anyone know of a company that wants to sponsor a recreational lifter who’s also a dad and cop??? I’d post it on Instagram and I could reach several different target audiences.
True. We budget $150/month for entertainment and that includes going out and the booze.
My brain compares like things to like things. For example, when I’m at the liquor store I prefer to buy beer made by a larger company because it’s cheaper than the local craft beer. I can get a 12 pack of Busch Light for about the same price as a six pack of the local stuff. But I don’t like to compare my beer money with my grocery money lol
When it comes to food, I can’t get over the hurdle of knowing that I could prepare the same food for a lot less money by going to the store and doing it myself. But I guess that’s kind of the point - the convenience.
Not for where I shop. I buy from local growers and butchers in my area. More expensive but better than supermarket stuff.
I like eating porterhouse steaks and they ain’t cheap haha.
