so currently i have low estrogen and wanting to know the cause of this. what actually causes low estrogen? all i know is, low test= low estrogen? im having symptoms like dehydrated almost all the time (especially in the morning), burning/itchy/ extremely dry skin but weird because its only in my hands. dermatologist prescribed me with something for this but it doesn’t work well.
Post bloodwork with reference ranges.
Short answer: Yes, low E follows low T (not always!).
But there are other conditions too, like mutation of Cyp19 gene (leads to deficiency or excess of aromatase entsyme).
It doesn’t work because your skin is dehydrated from hormone imbalance. Estrogen plays role in fluid retention in skin/joints. This exact thing happens when I have low E2. The skin on the back of my knuckles turns into scales… Rips and tears. This is not normal for me, ever, so its always a give away for me.
Are you on TRT?
Hi alphagunner, before I was on TRT I would have this problem. My knuckles would become like sandpaper and would crack/bleed. My knees also sounded like rice crispies for a while when I’d squat.
I’ve asked this in other threads but no one seems to know. Can other things like cruciferous vegetables and high doses of zinc dry up your E2? I used to consume large amounts of broccoli, took indole 3 carbinol and lots of zinc. Was trying to get any leg up in bodybuilding I could years back.
Supplements have absolutely wrecked my E2. DIM kept me in the teens, E2 wise. Pretty sure the high amount of b6/b12 in C4 preworkout, also dropped my e2. Which is the latest issue I am barely coming out of. Joints still hurt a little.
Before TRT, did you have low e2 (probably if you had low test)? Then you would have the same problem.
What do your e2 labs look like… Popping joints is also one of the symptoms. I didn’t know what was going on and I rode my bike with knees like that, low e2. I couldn’t “walk” without being in tremendous pain for about a year. Don’t mess with this.
I only had E2 checked once before TRT, it was 29. I had taken (and stopped) those supplements years before that E2 test though. I also took C4 for years, thought it was the best thing ever until it started giving me bad anxiety, sometimes wonder if I missed up my adrenal glands.
I abused ephedrine for years. Probably fucked with endocrine system
Did you say you still take Bronkaid?
But did you look good while doing it?
^That used to be my attitude.
hello mate! no im not on trt. last time i checked my e2 was at 10 ish while total test at 220 and free 175. shbg 64 and igf1 71.
yeah but why did it target the hands? could it be stress? i dont think its gluten or dairy allergies because i dont rub bread over my hands or cheese. and its just my hands.
I do/did. Trying to stop
Fucking A! Loved that stuff.
TRT has reset my stimulant threshold it seems like. I give myself a little break, maybe a week or 2 off. and I get a hyper response from caffeine, and tyrosine.
Caffeine gets me in a super good mood, then super aroused.
Tyrosine makes me feel like I’m on speed, but not the euphoria. More like, intense racing thoughts, but not in a bad way.
I have always been sensitive to caffeine. If I have coffee after 10am I have trouble sleeping. So I rarely have coffee. I wish I knew why that was.
I thought I was the only one. Over the past 4 years my sensitivity to just about everything has increased. I can’t even take b-vitamins without feel ramped up.
Caffeine lowers serotonin and raises dopamine.
This is why you get libido burst.
Neurotransmitters need more attention than just hormones when accessing libido.
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I have the same symptoms, dry skin and cracked knuckles, my oestrogen is within normal range though, can anything else be causes this
@corp09
Surely there’s more to bitch about than dry skin and knuckles otherwise a little Aveno would have you good in no time. What issues are you having?
Hello Dextermorgan, thank you for your comment. Respectively, I don’t believe I am bitching, the chronic skin issues is impacting my life as moisturiser doesn’t work for more than 30mins.
Other symptoms, lack of emotions, severe anxiety and depression. lost the joy for life.
I meant surely there are more issues than just dry skin (not saying you were bitching). Losing the joy of life would have been the first symptom I would want relieved but to each their own.
Are you on TRT (or anything for that matter)? Or is this just how things are? How long has this been going on? Any notable things happen in life that could be the culprit?
