Unbalanced Arimidex/Anastrozole dosing?

Iodine intake is difficult in terms of recommendations, sources and testing. Some take mg doses. All you can to is make sure that you have a maintenance dose and also find a stronger source short term. After that, you may require thyroid hormones to recover waking temp and other aspects of vitality.

Low ferritin can mess with thyroid hormones and adrenal problems can increase rT3. Thyroid issues are vastly more complex than TRT. [Adrenal fatigue is hard to treat, because you can’t simply take a pill to fix it. One needs to self educate and make change to one’s life.]

There are some iodized sea salt products that may have an agreeable taste. It may no be the iodine that tastes bad in some iodized table salt products. There are other metallic salts that taste bitter.

Ok here is my Waking Basal Temp, Waking Glucose, Diet, Exercise, and weight log for the week…
Body temps are very low and I lost 0.0 lbs for the week. I just don’t understand it. I feel good, and my workouts seem to be going well. @ 6’ 235lbs I should be losing weight at this calorie level even if I weren’t working out and running.

Maybe I am just putting on more muscle, but the Body fat caliper measurement remains unchanged, and my workout weights are down substantially from when I was eating higher carbs and workout out hard every 4th day. I have changed my rep speed from 2,1,3 to 4,2,4 and I’m stopping when I can’t lift anymore using strict form, So take the lower weights for what it is worth.

I still feel like I am having excellent workouts. I have increased reps at least 1 rep in all excercises for each of the 3 workouts this week.

I take a GNC Multi with 150mcg of iodine, Niacin, 3200iu calender’s finest fish oil, 40g whey protein, and 3g arginine each morning.

Oh yeah, I work out on a Bowflex xtreme II so the weights listed are approximately .65 real weight.

inability to lose weight + low body temperatures + ongoing HRT problems even with treatment = hypothyroid symptoms

you need to get your Thyroid and Cortisol checked out asap.

TSH
Total T4
Total T3
Free T4
Free T3
Reverse T3
AM Cortisol

 • ferritin (and Vitamin D 25OH and B12 for good measure)

Thanks Purchance, I have an appintment for labs in the morning. I’ll get everything you listed tested and post the results here when I get them. Do these labs cover adrenal issues as well?

I just recieved my latest labs but unfortunately, he did not order all of the thyroid labs I asked for.
Quest Diagnostics

Free T 212 35-155
PSA .8 <4.0

My doc seems pretty open minded about everything, but I am a little disappointed that he didn’t run all of the thyroid labs yet. He said that he wants me to stick to the reduced carb diet for the next three months to try to get my weight/glucose/insulin issues under control before we attack the thyroid. He said a lot of the right things about not just throwing armour at the problem and that he wanted to do a full thyroid panel. Suggested that t3 only would probably be the way to go depending on the full panel results. Does anyone know why he would order t3 uptake? What does that test tell us?

My cholesterol issues would probably be a little better if I hadn’t slacked off on my diet and training over the holidays. I haven’t gone crazy with the food, but there have been a lot of parties, house guests, alcohol etcetera since the middle of Novemeber. I have only dropped about 14 lbs total since early summer but I am guessing that I have put on about 15 lbs of lean mass. The goal is to drop at least 10 more lbs by march.

I also switched my injections to SC since the last labs and I see no unexpected difference in the numbers. I dropped the dose from 150mg to 120mg per week and my Total T number only dropped 44.

My hematocrit levels are higher than the range and my BP is elevated. I plan on giving blood to see if that helps.

Any comments or advise will be appreciated, especially about the relationship between insulin issues and thyroid. My Doc suggested that the insulin issue could be the cause of a lot of the problems.

Your high FT is causing high hematocrit. Only one way to fix that.

If your thyroid levels are low, that slows down you metabolism, leaving more lipids and sugars in your blood. Higher insulin levels and higher resting insulin levels reduce your GH feeding response. I think that thyroid meds would help with fasting serum glucose.

Doing one thing at a time is misguided as things are interlinked and not independent.

What are your current waking body temps?

Drop dosage to 100mg per week? Will the theraputic phlebotomy do any good short term?

Sounds like doc is backwards then. If he does want to fix one thing at a time, then thyroid first would be the way to go. I’ll push him to get the full panel.
What are your current waking body temps?
I’ll need to log another week to get current temps, but previously I averaged 96.54 for a week. The daily fluctuation is minimal so I do not suspect adrenal issues.
