Unable to Get Good Sleep, Noisy Roommates

This was nuking my life. I was sleep deprived and unemployed.

They had no choice unless they wanted me stuck in their basement indefinitely. Now I am no longer sleep deprived and am becoming more productive by the day.

You should read Sartre.

Great! Now you’re back on the ball, World Peace, Climate Change and cancer will no doubt all be sorted in no time.

HAHA very funny.

So if they didn’t stop having sex, you’d never have been able to move out? Don’t forget to thank them for their celibacy on May 10th aka female roommates day.

Well, yes. Sleep depravation = can’t function. I was already unemployed, my car broke down without money to fix it and so I have to walk.

There’s no way I could apply for jobs sleep deprived and needing to walk miles.

Have you told that to new parents? They’d be amazed to hear that it’s impossible to hold a job down or be productive when sleep deprived. In fact, why not ask your parents how they coped when you were first born? See if you can get a picture of how much sleep deprivation you’ve cost them so far in your life. Might give you a bit of perspective.

This is why all SEAL applicants are afforded 16 hours of uninterrupted sleep during Hell week: to ensure maximal performance.

Your mom is getting laid so loudly and so frequently that her son lost his job AND his car?

I’ve gotten 3 or 4 good nights in the past 7 years.

The sooner I get away from this place the better. It’s a black hole.

If my car worked I’d live in my car without hesitation, but then I wouldn’t have access to a kitchen.

It appears like I have to work minimum wage or retail, maybe waiting tables.

My life is going down the tubes honestly.

In fact, I even applied to my local McDonalds, they didn’t even call me back.

I wonder if I’ll even get hired anywhere.

They never will. You are supposed to call them to thank them for their time, etc.

Nah. It was never that good in the first place, was it?

These things, they take work.

Idk dude, 36 hours without sleep (has happened a few times) and my body starts shutting down… literally… Autonomic dysfunction, cognitive deterioration etc

I drove home last night after 40 hours without sleep… My spacial awareness, concentration etc was clearly impaired

That being said, ear plugs/earphones and music would’ve been a better strategy

What happens to me is 1. muscle loss and breakdown and 2. I start losing things and forgetting things.

I’ve accidentally left my keys in the front door overnight 3 times, locked my keys in my car 4 times in the same week and left the house without my wallet.

I’m gonna wind up homeless I swear. In fact I tested being homeless a couple days. Two things kill you: all the walking. You feel the burn in our legs and eventually your whole body aches. That’s number one. the second problem is the cold nights; it gets cold cold outside out in the middle of nowhere. I had a sweatshirt, shoes, shorts and some shirts and it was way too cold. I tried sleeping in mu car as well, still too cold but a blanket helps keep it warmer in the car. Can’t carry a blanket around outside very easily without a working car though.

Food becomes a problem real fast too. You have no money, so no food. So you go to shelters to get food but if you did that everyday the max you’re gonna get is probably about 1,200 calories and very low protein. And you have no kitchen, so you can’t cook unless you carried a backpacking stove. and you can’t refrigerate anything.

Showering is also impossible unless you had enough money to pay a gym membership, then you could shower in the gym.

Laundry can be done at launder mats if you have enough $$. But you would need a spare pair of pants.

There’s also some scary mofos out there in the homeless community. Lots of genetic freaks running around. Im fact some of the tallest and most jacked guys I’ve ever seen in my life pop out of no where in little homeless communities. Don’t know how they maintain muscle – probably steroids. Got missing teeth and shit, with girls staying with them in little tent communities. It’s wild. Heard one girl at a shelter talk about a guy just getting out of jail. So it’s not really safe. Sleeping in a car is much safer.

Shit, did you guys know any of this? Being homeless sounds like it kinda sucks.

My car has a kitchen, bed and tv. I could rent it to you for a while in exchange for a few goes on your mum.

There’s a lot of upside to living in a van down by the river.
