This topic is pretty much a prime example about why it’s impossible to give good advice online: people always withhold information and then slow trickle it out to invalidate all advice. Every topic is like an episode of House where you have to figure out the lie.

I took the original advice of being more confrontational. It worked.

I just wonder though, if mom is all traumatized and life shamed if it was the kind and loving sort like his step dad was his prison wife, or if it got real angry and aggressive.
