Joe is stoned out his tree every time he commentates.

wait, did he actually seriously say this? I never really pay full attention to any commentators, mma, football, whatever … but usually I would catch something that egregious. Did he really say this?

Kendall tapped out, there is no doubt about it. I’m sure it will be on Google video in a few minutes if you didn’t Tivo the fight. He tapped, Ed relaxed, kendall escaped.
Bullshit…I have it on Tivo, each of them appear to have tapped during the fight to triangles, when Kendall “tapped” he was falling on top of Ed while in his triangle and on the replay you can clearly see it was only twice. UFC rules clearly state that you must tap three times for it to be a submission due to tap out. It was more of Kendall bouncing due to Ed rolling him over than Kendall actually tapping. Also, Ed does not relax his triangle, it takes Kendall a good five seconds to escape by pulling his feet over.
Ed also appears to have tapped while in one of Kendall’s triangles, but it is less obvious as the camera angle wasn’t good, but you can clearly see it, and again, it is only two taps.
If you don’t like it, too bad, you don’t get to change the rules to suit your needs.[/quote]
Yeah, I had Ed tapping originally during one of Kendall’s triangle attempts while they were rolling. Either way, none of the supposed tap-outs were very clear cut and they obviously changed their minds right away.
Kendall all the way. The sport in general has evolved away from rewarding ground and pounders who sit on guy and punch at him for five minutes. I’m not saying it wasn’t close, or that Ed didn’t seek to finish the fight via submission-- I’m saying that in a VERY close fight, Kendall was slightly more active and successful at seeking the win rather than just control. Even then, if Ed never gives up his back at the end of round 3 I say draw. When I heard unanimous decision I knew which fighter it had to be, though.
slimjim, you’re right, especially about PRIDE.
And how about Bisping! I figured he’d destroy Haynes, who was lucky to be in the finals in the first place. I’m sure White loves it too-- Bisping is infinitely more marketable than any of the other heavyweights.

Frank Trigg and Joe Rogan should do fight commentary together. That would be epic.
Great night of fights. I really could care less about Blade and Xyience, but hey it’s free so I’ll deal with it.
I gave the fight to Kendall, so I was happy with the decision. I didn’t see any definitive “tapping” either, perhaps I’ll watch the Tivo and judge for myself. Bisping looked really good, he has that creative flair to his style that makes him exciting, kind of like Shogun. He’s also Dana’s doorway to the UK if he’s marketed right.
Tito is a great judge of talent, so after all the hype about Matt I was very disappointed in him after his fight with Nichols. Last night, however, erased most of that because he looked like the beast Tito said he would become.
