Ultimate Fighter 2 On SpikeTV

Forrest’s fight was inspiring. He held his own the entire fight enough to earn respect from every judge. I am curious as to his training / diet… he seemed to definately put it together near the end of the season, can’t wait to see him fight some more.

You don’t show up twenty pounds overweight then try to sweat it all off in one day. That is a recipe for losing and maybe getting killed.

If he had any smarts he would have picked someone who had even more weight to drop not less. This is basic common sense.

At least he finally got smart before he got into the ring and got tore up.

Same thing with the heavy weight with the bad knees. WTF! When your knees start giving out it’s time to lose weight and stop pounding on them.

This first episode definately showed how desperate they are for warm bodies to put on a show.

I still like the show though. It’s somewhat educational.I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I recommend everyone get ahold of the Stephen Bonner/Forrest Griffin fight from the finals of last year. It’s been heralded as perhaps the greatest MMA fight of all time. Maybe not so technically, but in terms of heart, strength, perserverance, and courage, their match was quite inspiring.

Forrest Griffin would make a great comedian as well! It was an unbelievable fight.
That was the best fight I’ve ever seen on UFC pro or otherwise. very well matched and they both got what they deserved ( contracts )

so kenedy, when are you gonna fight Chuck Liddell? I mean, its not like he’s a real fighter or anything, right…
Check liddell doesn’t openly accept challanges and fight anyone anywhere. He can try his best but all that sissy grabbing and wrestling isn’t going to help him beat up a Marine.

Besides, he’d get lynched in my neighborhood anyways

UFC is probably the saddest attempt at real fighting I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how anyone could confuse this shit for martial arts.

Give me a Tube…TUBE Give me a Steak…STEAK Give me a Boogie…BOOGIE!!

Dude, first off, if you’re referring to the show, it’s called “The Ultimate Fighter”, not “UFC”, UFC is the name of the organization. And if that’s what you’re calling bullshit, what then do you consider “real” martial arts?

It seems that after the second round they are hardly even moving. What would you say about boxing if after the third round they couldn’t even throw a punch?
Again, are you talking about pro UFC fights, or the amatures in training on this show? Most pro fights I’ve seen are constant action. You’d be hard-pressed to find a fight where both fighters run out of steam after the 1st or 2nd round.

The guys on TUF, however, are in training, and as such, aren’t up to the level they need to be. Accordingly, they may not be impressive now, but give them a month or 2. The ones that deserve respect will earn it. ;)
You can have whatever you want man… Seems like another bandwagon baby trying to whore himself some attention.

UFC, TUF, whatever. All the fights I’ve seen SUCKED. I actually was watching one pretty good one, when my gay roommate took his dick out and starting beating off.

He thought it was gay porn.

Hey Guys my name is Adam Singer and I am Forrest’s coach. I think this season will be better then the last. The 170lb fighters are all very talented.

Hey Adam!

I didn’t know you posted here. Good to “hear” from you again. How’s the face?

This is James Esacloni BTW.

There’s too much lame ass talk and not enough fights. The first season when someone got kicked out they brought him back, I can’t remember his name but he’s got orange hair.

Yeah they’re always “bringing people back” and replacing them because they got cut and they aren’t healed. Buncha panzy asses if ya ask me.

James I am feeling good.
Thanks.
Adam

Kenedy13: What is your fight experience? Being a marine?..Martial arts?..Beating a woman on the streets of Oakland?
I know you are just trying to get a reaction from people by posting such ignorant comments…Did Daddy not hug you enough as a kid?
Anyway, in the future it would be wise not to comment about something you know nothing about.
That is all.

Ouch, geez, you got me. I’m all aboard the bandwagon. Never mind my 10+ years of training in various martial arts. Never mind my watching the first UFC back in 1990-whenever. Never mind my watching the first season of TUF and commenting on the thread here when it was out. Never mind my posting on a handful of other martial arts-related threads around. (My apologies to everyone else, I know it looks lame when someone lists their “achievements” online.)

Whatever man, you’ve contributed zero to this discussion, and have only come out sounding like a borderline-homophobic person who doesn’t have the capacity to understand athletes working towards reaching the top of their sport, a sport which you apparantly know less-than-nothing about.

They just replayed the Forrest Bonnar fight this weekend. It was very entertaining, the crowd was going nuts.

Adam, aka ASinger,

since you’re here and there’s a pretty big interest in MMA, do you plan on writing for T-Nation, or maybe having an interview posted here? that would be pretty cool…

Kennedy,

if you don’t plan on posting any rational thoughts, type your drivel elsewhere.

Everybody else,

i think we all agree that we’re disappointed with the first show, but still like it and are gonna watch it…ironic. i came to the conclusion last night that TUF 2 is not a training program, it’s a selection. it’s not like a NFL hopeful is gonna show up at the combines hop[ing to get a good workout…

Go cry to your mommy, bitch. If you want to argue, argue. Don’t sit here and bitch about how I’m not contributing, that’s all you bitches do around here. You never attack the issues, just complain.

You just admited to being disapointed in the first episode… Then you attack me for making negative comments?

Make up your mind, which is it? You like it or not? I smell another bandwagon bitch…

The first episode sucked, we all agree. So what’s the problem, tool.

would just like to comment on chuck liddell trying to beat up a marine…

well thats why the military…marines included hire jiu-jitsu experts to teach hand to hand combat…the Gracie’s come in and teach seminars to all branches of the military, and that is what 6wks of training…don’t tell me that a marine could beat up a world class jiu-jitsu guy when they get to learn their art…by the way my jiu-jitsu class have many ex-military personell in the class…and they can get their ass’s handed to them like anyone else…

look at all the military guy’s who tried to step into the ring during the 1st UFC’s and get ass’s handed to them on a silver platter…

anyway id put my life savings on the line that the top MMA fighters in the world would beat military personel 9 out of 10 times in the ring

Absolutely. It’s a kind of underdog story; the movie Rudy, Hoosiers, and Rocky, all rolled into one.

I also just checked out he said/he said (a fruity name, yeah) at

where Bonnar and Griffin talk about each episode. It needs to be repeated, Forrest Griffin is a very funny mofo. “…And I won’t even get into Luke Cummo, because he scares me and if I insult him he may track me down and eat my pets.”

I’ll definitely be following their thoughts on the show. That’s a great touch, on the part of Spike TV.

I know it’s way early to predict favorites, but I’m looking forward to seeing Mike Whitehead (the heavyweight who was sharing the room with Luke) and Jorge Gurgel (the Welterweight who tried to help Kenny cut weight) go far. I’ll also be pulling for my hometown guy, Luke Cummo.

BURN.

May have singed the mods as well.

kenedy13,

no, i didn’t say you were being negative, i said you weren’t making rational comments. the vast majority of the people here were commenting and contributing-you appear to be one of the many people that use the internet to start pointless arguments, and hide behind the safety of your moniter.

seriously, go somewhere else. you’re not wanted here.
