Hey guys. Am currently doing this diet. For those who don’t know it’s basically low carbs and cals at the beginning of the week, couple sith high volume and sets of 20ish reps to deplete muscle glycogen etc. Then you cruise the rest of the week, do cardio and stuff until Friday evening, when you lift lower reps, and carbup continuing into the next day. The day after the carbup you do lower reps still. I have tweaked a little but basically that’s it.
It’s pretty awesome, today is my super-high carb coma day so pancakes and maple syrup etc good times.
I have a question relating to the other low days. I have no issue sucking it up and working hard, doing 20 sets with no carbs/energy, be flat throughout the week. What I waw wondering though, it’s fucking with my mood and concentration somewhat during the low carb portion of the week. My boss is not a cool person and it’s very annoying. Do you have any tips as to what worked for you?
Also anyone who’s done this/same sort of diet, tips would be much appreciated

Are you on any sort of fat burners or stimulants? These will often have dual effect of enhancing mood.
Also, consider looking into St. John’s Wort. Some people don’t say they notice anything; however, I think the effect is more dramatic when you’re in such a retarded deficit I noticed.

Well, whatever I can get lol
I have ordered yohimbine but it hasn’t come (seized?) and I am basically a caffeine junkie, my current (not yet working) plan to offset 1200kcal diet(low days) is:
3x100mg caffeine, spaced at 4 hr intervals
3x coffee…so alternating coffee/anhydrous caffeine pretty much every 2 hrs
Shit loads of green tea…maybe 7 cups?
24mg ephedrine before depletion workouts.
You may ask Why not take ephedrine like normal, 3x week. Well I do love it (maybe too much haha) but it does affect sexual systems, if you know what I mean. I think because it’s a vasoconstrictor? Who knows. Also it’s expensive to get here (UK).
St John’s Wort works? Cool sounds good. I know you were on stupidly low kcals and carbs so whatever kept you sane, I’m willing to try.
Ps goal is not ‘competition lean’ but the level or two of lean above that. I think maybe aiming for 160lbs or less by August, what do you guys think?

I wouldn’t call that a “caf junkie” by any means. I was at 1200mg in the final days of my prep. You’re already at the level of lean you just described. Might be a bit of body dysmorphia going on here. I was basically as lean as you are one week out.

Oh really? Lol I think wanting the next level of leanness is pretty typical…never 'finished. Probably need to get a tan and then see. So if you don’t mind what supps and strategies were you relying on for energy in the last weeks?

I also take 2000mg green tea extract everyday.
What bumped my caf sky high the last 3 days was the addition of MHP Xpel.

Hope you get that mood sorted out and see if these recommendations help. I didn’t notice that, but my job doesn’t have a bad boss. UD 2.0 is my go to diet for getting shredded in a hurry. It works every time. Tough, but awesome results.

Absolutely. They actually improved my sleep. All was taken before 2pm.

whoooooole other story. So I don’t actually endorse that much!
I found the low carb days on this diet just brutal. I was doing full body workouts at the time and they were tough to get through. I later switched to a traditional body part split and had oatmeal every morning. I felt better through out the day and my refeeds were larger, but I kept it to just one day.
Diet works very well but is brutally difficult. Every time I’ve done it, I’ve only made it a few weeks before getting burnt out.
If your mood is bad you might want to up your carbs… I read a diet similar to what your doing a few weeks ago and it has “low carb” days but not “no carb” days… It said “low carb” was .25 per lb of body weight… So or a 200 lb person they’d be at about 50… that might be just enough to keep you from an assault charge!! LOL when I go super low carb I am very irritable and wanna smash somebody’s face in!!

Well, I’ve been at it for 3 1/2 weeks, no deviations…until tonight when ‘one cereal bar before training’ sort of turned into ‘all the low-fat/high carb treats in my stash’…550g of carbs. I don’t mind, I was planning to take two weeks at maintenance anyway, I have social events that would not fit this diet.
But anyway it got me thinking. TWICE-WEEKLY SMALLER REFEEDS. Opinions? I was mulling over say 500g C each weds and Sat evening. Have any of you set something up like that before? How?
I’ve been doing 200g P, 25g F, 50g C on M,T,W,T then a refeed fri night/ all day saturday.
I’m qn all-or nothing ‘when you pop you just can’t stop’ sort.of personality. So the week, while annoying, has been okay but I have found I’ve been fiending for those refeeds lol. And I’m not sure it’s establishing psychologically-healthy patterns?
So, just thinking aloud but i’d appreciate anyone’s input. FWIW it’s worth I have included some progress pics. These are from yesterday, so represent two week’s progress.

As you can tell, a nice tan would help but this is England so as my nan would say ‘you can shit in one hand and wish in the other and see what you get’…
But yeah mainly just carrying a bit of fat on lower abs and lower chest…and a thin layer all over which is no real issue at all.
