UFC vs. PRIDE FC

The UFC is thinking of adding knees to the ground back.
I also liked the no elbows rule less dumb stoppages imo.

Fair enough but you won’t see tournies, awesome entances, kicks or stomps in the UFC. [/quote]

The only part of that I really miss are the tournies, which were amazing.

I like no elbows on the ground for the same reason. Less terrible cuts that end a fight early. In my opinion if you take a guy to the ground and can’t sub him, or mount him and punch him, then you haven’t done enough to win a fight. Cutting someone doesn’t put them out of the game, it just worries the doctors.

Knees on the ground I do miss, and for a good reason. It neutralizes a lot of sloppy grappling technique when the other fighter knows you can knee them in the face. Keeps fighters from getting rocked, getting a sloppy td, and then holding someone in side control or dogfight.

It was a chic…

I thought Pride’s production values were extraordinary and they did a great job of making fights feel special. something the UFC lacks. Nu-metal and ugly t-shirts with skulls and barbed wire don’t get my blood pumping. Knees to the head on the ground are a must for the sport IMO.

That said, I’m much happier having everyone (well almost everyone) fighting each other now. Promotion vs promotion is pro-wrestling crap. Combat sports are their best when the best fighters are fighting each other. I don’t care where it happens.

It was more special to me because there was one Pride every 3-4 months instead of the current UFC oversaturation.

I still throw in Pride 10 and some of the tourneys once a while. I miss Pride.

Compared to Pride the UFC is not that great…
They do have a lot of good fighters, but they still lack some great guys like Fedor and Mousasi.
Pride also had a much bigger feel of entertainment, they great show, the tournaments… just the entire vibe they had going on over there.

I wish Pride would come back!

If the UFC would add soccer kicks and knees on the ground (ok, and Bas Rutten instead of that douche Joe Rogan) I wouldn’t miss Pride one bit. They already bought out their best fighters.

it will never be the same cuz cool entrances, stomps and soccer kicks will never happen again :frowning:

NO PRIDE NO LIFE
