Very excited for this match up. Anyone else interested in this fight. James Vick is very confidant going into this fight and I don’t think he is giving Gaethje the respect he deserves. I am hoping he shuts down Vick’s slow climb in the rankings. But James Vick is 6’3 and fighting at lightweight which is crazy to me. So we shall see. We shall see.

I am also extremely interested to see how this one plays out.
I didn’t follow Gaethje in WSOF but his 3 fights in the UFC so far have had me glued to the TV. Win or lose I see him extracting a heavy toll from Vick. If he loses it might be it for his tenure in the UFC.
Vick going 10-1 at Lightweight in the UFC is savage, but he needs this to get a shot at the big boys at 155. If he can find a way not to get those long legs turned into hamburger meat by Justin I think he has a shot at winning. If not, I don’t think he will be able to move and use his range effectively and Gaethje will slowly break him down.
Either way I am all in on this one!!
Vicks with all his trash talk saying Gaethje was gonna get slept and hes the one who got slept. Not even 2 minutes into the first round. Good for Gaethje.
That was one of the worst KO’s I have seen in a while. Face down, ass up, crumpled against the cage, and non-responsive for quite a while after the fight ended.
Don’t get much more embarrassing than that after trying to build all that hype.

Vick, that SBG guy last week who got side kicked in the face … never understood the appeal of trash talking. Good chance you end up eating your words - and then some!

I know its easy to say as a spectator but I think Vick had a poor performance. Granted we only saw a minute and half of interaction but his movement leading up to the KO sucked. His chin was held high.
If your back against the cage you should tuck your chin and bring up your hands to the side to protect yourself a bit. He should have been more concerned about those bombs and fought a bit more conservatively with that in mind for at least 2 rounds. Oh well. Wonder what is next for both of them.
