UFC 81

Nice.

Sorry for that shitty post. Sometimes I look at MMA the wrong way because, yes I am a boxing fan. I guess I felt let down when two colosal beatdowns were abruptly stopped due to subs. Really though, the two main heavyweight fights were good. All four guys showed something and looked strong. It would be cool if Lesnar continued to progress and fulfilled all the potential it looks like he has.

Mazagatti fucked that up pretty bad.

Yes and no.

We rewound it to see the hits to the back of the head and there were four. He should have stepped in after the first two and gave a warning. I don’t see why he took a point immediately without any warning.

I thought it was a bad call at first. Then when i saw the replay I agreed with it. I just watched it again and I definitely agree with it. Lesnar smacks him on the back of the head with a big hammer fist and the ref shouts “Watch the back of the head!”

He then hits him 3 more times. I don’t care if Mir was moving his head. It’s called being crafty. Lesnar was over excited and Mir was smart. It was a legit stand up because Mir got stunned by the ilegal blows and was in a bad spot.[/quote]

You are correct. I had to watch it a few times before I could hear Mazz give the warning.

Timmah earned a lot of respect from me with his post fight interview. He was classy, like Kevin Randleman carrying Fedor around the ring after trying to kill him classy. And this was probably one of the most exciting fights I’ve ever seen where Tim Silvia was actually fighting.

I think Brock did great in his handicap match

Couldnt agree more with what was already said. Very happy I got to watch this card.

I think Timmy earned a lot of respect from a lot of people for that fight.

Brock was intense and is better matched against a stand-up fighter (obviously?). He has a Houston Alexander-like intensity.

Did anybody else notice the PPV price increase? From $40 to $45. I didn’t have to buy it, but why the sudden flux? I usually go to BW3’s by my house. However, at 9:45 they were turning people away because it was at maximum occupancy.

I went to a buddies house to watch. I think this was one of the better PPVs in recent history. 4 very entertaining matches, but hell, it was only about an hour long! The cards down the road do look better, but that is still too much imo.

Crafty is not exactly the term that comes to mind when describing a move that places your head in a more vulnerable position. Tomato-tomato I guess
