Randy is my hero.
Seriously.
Seriously, that was fucking unbelievable[/quote]
Hahaha! Amazing. Randy is the man. Giving up 16 years and 30+ lbs, and owning the young dude! He had me worried several times though, ate some big punches and kicks. Fortunately Randy was able to move in and clinch, and then rain shoulders, knees, elbows and punches on Gonzaga. Also, great great double leg slam. Loved that.
Seems GSP is back, although I was kinda hoping he could finish that submission he spent all round working on. Good performance all the way around.
How can anyone not like Randy Coture? Its literally impossible. Herb Dean is a tool. What kind of shit was that. Is he tapping or not? No? than dont stop the fucking fight. A title fight and Gonzaga gets to take a breather at his own prompting? I wouldve been furious if he were to have capitalized on that.
GSP looked good, I got the same vibe last night as I did when he came out against Hughes. He looked ready to bang. Where was Koschecks D1 takedown defense? Barring that wild oh right connecting, I knew he was in for a long night as soon as he got scooped early in the first.
Impressive night for sure. Good job old man and both of the french canadians. And the Huerta fight that they played at the end was rather interesting to watch.
Still wish they would of played the fight that showed whoever got that bloodied up to stain the canvas so bad.
I agree with the above comments, I have defended Herb Dean time and time again but giving a fighter a timeout when he’s obviously in trouble was out of this world incompetence. Then he went on to further the matter by taking a point away from Gonzaga without a warning for the fence. It came across like he realized he had just given Napao a break, and wanted to give him one back to even things out. Two wrongs don’t make a right, it was shitty, shitty work by Dean. At least he got the stop right.
Randy is a stud. That is all. If Mirko gets past Kongo we will probably see Cro Cop-Couture, which is mouth watering. That is, assuming that the Mirko who epicly fucked up Wandy and Josh Barnett in about 9 minutes shows up.
I thought Mir would be on the main event, guess i read that wrong. I went to ufc.com to see the prelim fights as they said we could, but they are 1.99 each. I’m not going to pay for the PPV and the prelim fights.
They need a way to allow the ppl who bought the ppv to see it for free.
Overall great night, everyone I wanted to win won for a change. I was so glad the predator won.
Lastnight it seemed the trend was that cocky guy lost.
How do you guys feel about the whole Babalu holding the choke on Heath?
I feel like Heath shouldn’t have stooped that low to disrespect him, but come on…do we really need fighters doing that shit right now with all the microscoping of MMA.
I was on Sherdog which I hardly ever post on because everyone is a 4yr old “cage fighter” and the majority seem to think that Heath got what he deserved and it was no big deal.I think they are wrong…especially if they want the UFC to get bigger and more respected…and actually exist for a long time.
Quote from Sherdog post:
It’s a combat sport, it isn’t some pussy sport like baseball where you can insult and disrespect your opponent with no consequences.
This is what is wrong with America, we have a culture full of pussies who only like to strike out at people (bombs over bagdad) who we think won’t strike back, and then we act outraged when they do.
Heath got what was coming to him. If he wanted to disrespect a fighter who stood no chance of hurting him, he should have asked to fight matt hammil.
Don’t you just love that shit?..I know I was done after that.
Randy did it again. As I said after the Sylvia fight, I’m never betting against him again. I picked him to win but still, never thought he’d dominate and break Gonzaga’s spirit so quickly. Truly an impressive performance.
Someone please explain to me how 2 judges could give a round to Koscheck in that fight against GSP? He did nothing in my eyes to win round 1, which could be the only round possibly scored in his favor because he clearly lost 2 and 3. GSP truly dominated that fight and beat Koscheck at his own game.
The extra hold on the choke by Sobral was out of line and he needs to be suspended. UFC is lucky things didn’t go worse with that, as there could’ve been a serious injury and that would’ve sent the media into a frenzy.
Never fuck with an old guy - you aren’t smart enough to deal with him.

Lol, best quote right there. In other news, it’s 100% true. However, as cool as it was seeing Grove go down, I think I like the Huerta fight a lot more. I mean, watching tv while smashing your opponents face in with elbows? That’s original.

I think this tactic really raised his stock as a fighter. People like cool shit.

I was a bit surprised by that too, the only things I can think of are that with the benefit of television cameras we can see what’s going on all the time whereas I assume the judges are viewing from a fixed point and may be unsighted at times so I can understand how maybe one of them at any given moment could be unable to see whether what one fighter or the other is doing is actually effective while on the ground. Alternatively it may just be that he edged it in the minds of a couple of them because he finished the round on top.

For sure. I liked him anyway; he’s fun to watch. But did you see the grin on his face as he was doing it? That was the funniest part.
