UFC 153- Silva v Bonnar

On the same card? Because as much as I’d like to watch the death of Chael Sonnen, I’m not encouraging asshattery of this magnitude by paying to watch. But if there were a real fight involved, that would be different.
If Silva couldn’t kill Chael, Jon Jones will not… wait till the inevitable Dos Santos vs. Chael Sonnen TUF season.

ahahaha!

Silva/GSP is probable though.
Honestly don’t know how seriously it’s being considered, but GSP wants no part of Silva. That’s a first round ko fa sho.

everyone is bashing Chael for getting the LHW(and let me put it straight i do not approve either), but we had another wrestler who came from 2 consecutive losses on LHW at the belt, got the immediate HW title shot after he retired and captured the belt on one of the most famous cinderella stories in MMA.

either way, just screw it and give it to Hendo already.

True, but that wrestler had previously held and defended the LHW belt and was a 2 time HW champion before that, so he earned some legitimacy which made that title bid a reasonable one. Plus, at that point Silvia had pretty much cleaned the HW division (which was much less deep than it is now) out. Not at all the same situation that we have here.

I agree. =)

Was just curious if anyone remembers, I love Randy, most people who bashes Jon Jones also forget that Couture decided to deny his title defense against Minotauro too.

When Nick Diaz said he moves up a weight classes to fight AS, Dana says no. When Chael Does against JJ, he says yes. Different measures eh?

That’s probably more to do with Diaz’s bizzare and irresponsible behavior more than anything else.

Dana has talked about it before, he’s absolutely not a reliable person, failing to show up for certain events on more than one occasion.

Chael on the other hand, despite what anyone in this thread thinks about him as a personality, seems by all accounts to be a reliable guy. He will fight anyone anywhere at any given time, always does his media duties and is always going to be able to say “yes” at a very short notice.

From a business leader perspective, If I’m dana, I’m going to be giving Chael more opportunities every time, he’s the better worker. Look at this like you would any other job, Diaz would’ve been fired a long time ago.

Anderson would beat GSP via KO.

Anderson vs JJ would be really tough and being a Silva fan i’m going Silva via stoppage but it will be tough to watch and surely the toughest fight of his career!

By the way I don’t like JJ!

Now there’s a fight I’ll pay to watch. Win or lose, you know both those guys are going to go hard at each other.

That is a valid point, but if we’re using Diaz as the measuring stick for behavior and reliability, then there are quite a few other LHW’s (pretty much all of them) that have also been reliable and again have proven their legitimacy at LHW. I agree that Sonnen is always ready and willing to fight pretty much anyone which I’m sure White and the UFC appreciate, but I just personally don’t agree with giving him a title shot in a division that he has not proven himself in when there are several other worthy contenders.

Also, let me just say that for the record I’m not a fan of Sonnen’s persona (I’m sure in person without a camera on him he’s a cool guy), but I would never agree with denying someone a shot at a title based purely on personality. My gripe is with giving an unproven fighter who got beat convincingly on his last fight and just barely won his fight prior to that a shot at the title.

that’s pure Pro Wrestling!
