Haha! It IS different though, isn’t it? Think about how a “cute” Japanese girl walks compared to a “sexy” American girl (in this case the terms are equivalent, I think).

The American girl walks like she’s very deftly transferring an open-mouthed glass of water from hip to hip without ever spilling a drop.

The Japanese girl looks like she’s perpetually about to trip on her pigeon toes and fall flat on her face.

I haven’t had a reason to “study” the male Japanese gait until now, but I’ll make it a point to observe this week.

There is that “shuffling” thing that drives me nuts too. You should see my wife’s shoes. You really, really should see them. Any pair she gets. One month, tops, and they very literally look like someone took an industrial sander to the heels, back, and toes. She’s literally walking on metal most of the time as she completely shears the rubber off her heels and continues to drag the nail across the pavement!

Cortes - I am by no means trying to step in and gather some of your thunder, yet I have to say ‘Nicely done!’ I read few peoples entire posts but you are one of the few exceptions, and add one word to the end of my post . . . . ; )

My point is that Catholics do indeed think for themselves. Seriously. We really do.

Except for those who don’t.

And then there are all of those Catholics in-between who do some thinking for themselves, and then sort of prioritize and delegate some portion of their thinking out to someone else.

The rough make-up of the Catholic Church of has the third group taking up the biggest portion of the pie, and the other two groups confined to significantly smaller, similarly sized slices. The overall ratios of which are, shockingly, not that much different from every other large cultural or religious group of humans on earth.

Unless you’d care to demonstrate otherwise?
The Church tramples on critical thinking and thwarts at every opportunity. You cannot be a Catholic in good standing while the opposing the dogma and doctrines of the Church. A great deal of Catholics, perhaps even a majority disagree with at least one aspect of Church doctrine. What you will note about this however, is that these Catholics are not vocal about their dissent, and the Church does not aim to root them out. It is politically expedient for the Church to not go alienate it’s followers, and those pseudo-apostates are still so mentally enslaved that they maintain very real fears that prevent them from outright vocalizing that which they find to be irreverent in the Church line.

In the end, the hierarchy reminds and the Catholic man is never truly free. He has a Father in the Church, and that man has a Father all the way up until the Pope. All men down the pyramid are held by the chains of fear and the braces of guilt; with the puppet master at the top echelon.

For a Catholic man to become a vocal opponent of any part of the Church doctrine, would result in his excommunication.

Slavery of the mind is bad, very baaad.
I poofed because your Catholic apologist distrotions do not amount to the facts. I do not need to cut and paste errant biblical quotes together to try to make sense out of a senseless mishmash ideology. Would you expect to memorize the Upanishads Or recite the Hadith before realizing that I hate the lifestyle and environment of those religions from having live them?
I don’t claim to be a Priest, I’ve lived enough, read enough, seen enough and experienced enough of the Catholic Church to know what it is all about. Perhaps you looking at my assertions through your pro-Catholic bias would make them look false, but they are all objectively evident from someone who does not have a vested interested in rimjobbing the Pope.

In the Catholic Church you do not have rights, you can be excommunicated, which is a grand improvement from burning at the stake. Those men who vocally oppose the doctrine of the church, will find themselves labeled as apostates or heretics. While your average heckler at a bible study won’t get this treatment, it simply has to do with the fact that he is not openly vocal.

Further, in the Catholic doctrine you are guitly until proven innocent. It is mental slavery. They give you the debt of sin at birth and you have to work your life to pay it off. Even within their legal system, it is the same way, remember Father Corapi? They asked him to prove he was innocent essentially, but they didn’t have any real evidence against him.

Read Catholic doctrine, a Priest, is to his laymen, as Father is to his children. If you don’t understand the 1984-esque double speak of referring to your Priest as your Father, then you are obviously fucking blind. Further, Pope is the Latin transliteratin for the word Father and in basically all other languages worth mentioning in Catholicdom he is referred to as “Papa.”

Catholicism is a mindfuck, and I will prolly poof out of this thread because arguing with about as conductive as arguing with a North Korean Officer about who started the Korean War.

And NO, I am not interesting in becoming more educated (brainwashed) into the Catholic doctrine, any more so than I would like my Thetans audited by the Church of SCIENTOLOGY. If you’re actually going to assault my position based on your supposed ‘knowledge’ of the Catholic faith - just realize, that thing which you think you get value from having ‘knowledge’ of, features a talking donkey who informed Balaam of the devil, and of course a talking snake who lured us into our super bad decision to eat an apple THAT WE ALL NOW MUST PAY FOR THE REST OF FUCKING ETERNITY [METAL MUSIC PLAYS].

So you’ll have to excuse my ‘ignorance’ of the vast resource of human knowledge that is the Bible. I will be sure to become as well versed at it, as I am in Star Wars subplots, Scientology scripture, and Ufology. This will all have to occur when I get free time from mastering and studying pursuits worthy of human intellect, like absolutely anything but the absurd fields of human made fantasies pawned as reality.

I think our issue with immigrants, beyond the illegals, is the fact that they no longer want to be American. They just want all the perks.

When I was growing up my parents wouldn’t even teach me to speak French because and I quote “this is America you speak English, don’t worry about speaking French”.
True, but for them it didn’t matter, being American did. I even tried to take it in High School and they wouldn’t let me. They wisely told me to take Spanish
Wow your Parents sound like a bunch of cultural self hating morons. That should really be something to be proud of that they threw away their 1000 year lineage to try at being Anglo-Saxon, makes them so much more American too.

My Father was an English teacher even before we came to the USA and made sure I spoke the language exquisitely. My Mother was a Nurse and she tried to teach me her ethnic language - Russian. They were both from Bolivia, a Spanish speaking country, my Father of Hispanic descent and my Mother a third-generation Russian Bolivian, who still preserved her language. She passed when I was 9.

Thus I speak Spanish, English, and a smattering of Russian. In my personal life, I often choose and prefer to exclusively speak Spanish and spur off English.

Does this make me a bad American? For failing to be ignorant?
I take time out of my week to teach non English speakers how to speak English through ESL, and EVIL MUSIC* TEACH LITERATURE AND COMPOSITION IN SPANISH TO THOSE SAME PEOPLE EVIL MUSIC. “O NOEZ THEY ARE NOT ONLY BECOMING ENGLISH SPEAKERS BUT ALSO BECOMING ELOQUENT IN THEIR OWN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.”

To be American is to have a fundamental understanding of the writings and teachings that defined and created this nation. It appears to me that in the time of our Founding Fathers any one of a level of education acquired at least two languages of litercy “Latin & French” or “Latin & Greek.” Among the Colonists, there were many monolingual and bilingual people and not ubiquiteously English speaking. The Pennsylvania Dutch are still going strong for example, further a bit North, Gaelic survives in the New Foundland region, and French is spoken by around 10% of those in Maine and NH as a native tongue.

This whole idea of English dominance is one of recent origin, brought about by Anglo-Saxon domination of Spanish-Speaking and French-Speaking regions that were conquered and then spurred on by the Henry Ford era where Anglocentric business men tried to crush the ethnic diversity of their workers for god knows what reasons.

You conquered, invaded and suppressed us, our culture and our language. Now the injustice has ended and people are practicing their Freedom of Speech. Cry more imperialist, cry more.

@OP = You don’t think Afro-Saxons and Anglo-Saxons are irresponsible and annoying? You think because you’ve found some choice Latin ghetto people that herefore all Latin people who choose to preserve their language are now irresponsible and annoying? Let’s turn the mirror on methhead house robbers, and inner Florida redneck girls who at 26 have 7 kids. Seriously get of yourself.
Rohnyn, you may actually be trilingual. In addition to English and Spanish, you spend quite a bit of your time talking out of your ass.

I forgot to respond to this. I am convinced that the Aum Shinrikyo Cult members (who perpetrated the 1995 Tokyo subway Sarin nerve gas attack) are still and have been here the entire time*. They just wear the unquestioned, totally freaking normal no-no-this-isn’t-weird-at-all hat + dark glasses + surgical mask + head-down combo.

Reminds me of the perfect murder thread. It would be SO easy to get away with something here just so long as you can get away from your crime for just a few minutes and then into a crowd.

*For those who do not live in Japan, now, 16 years after the attacks, wanted posters for the perpetrators of that crime STILL adorn the walls of almost any public building in the country (at least they do where I live). Recently they came out with new ones that included the old pictures plus what the members may look like today.

Here’s a better idea of what we’re talking about. And this is a TOTALLY normal scene. Add dark sunglasses and…oh I’d better stop. I was about to start talking about the “summer gloves.” But if I do I’ll never stop…

So by being opposed to the injustices of the Catholic Church, I have insulted your Mother. Okay, way to reaffirm what I have said before, that you are another brainwashed drone who doesn’t care to think critically of the Church because your IDENTITY is the Church. For you to look objectively at the nature, history and governance of the Church, would be as difficult as astral projection. You like so many others, cannot separate your bias-built ego from the doctrine that you were raised in; for you to do so would effectively render you without an identity because you have been raised in the anthill. I hope someday you realize there is life outside the cave.

This reconfirms my point exactly about Catholicism being slavery o the mind.

I watched a film on this, called A and A2 by Tatsuya Mori. It was very interesting to see the way Japanese act with eachother especially within civil strife.

Aum Shinrikyo (Aleph) were some seriously freaky sums of bitches. Had all Russian weaponry and even tried to buy a nuke. Japanese and Apocalyptic cults are about the worst mix you could possible make.

I was impressed and amazed at how industrious the group was tho. Really kind of breathtaking the amount of self sufficience they practice.

They haven’t left at all. They weren’t outlawed by the gov’t but their numbers dwindled from a peak of 40k down to like 2k from what I understand. There are probably similar creepy groups, that just keep a more mainstream profile.
