Tyson. That is if it only goes about 6 rounds though. Tyson cannot go into the late rounds. He just has to hurt Lewis early. Tyson is also faced with the fact that he cannot screw up again. He has to make this one count. Also he has to win to stick around so he can make money.
Damn I make fun of Tyson’s iq and look at the grammer in my last post.
Anyways…Tyson certainly has the one shot chance. So Lewis if your listening don’t give him an opening!!! I so don’t want that early primate fuck to win. I’m thinking cro-magnon is possibly to advanced maybe homo-habalis.
Hey Magnus your mad at Holyfield for turning his back on us? (I’m Canadian too.) However I think there is a little more to the story than that. Basically as any sucessful Canadian will eventually find out…Canada does not support it’s own. Olympic athelets need the support of a sponsor. He didn’t get squat so he left. I’m not saying this is good. But it’s not like he commited a crime against Canada…he’s not John Walker.
It’s the same with all our top Scientists they all go to the states(or any other place that will fund their research or projects) because Americans actually support their own and apparently ours as well. Don’t get me wrong I love Canada and I’m super proud to be Canadian but we are so mismanaged that it’s very fruterating. No I don’t want to start an arguement about this.
I do however want Lewis to knock tyson out cold. So there is no 10 count, cause he’s right the fuck out dreaming all the dreams his two brain cells can muster. ![]()
Damn I really have to check my spelling. Sleep get some sleep. Thanks self. ![]()
Personally I like Lewis and don’t care where he is from. He is smarter than most fighters and I think he the best heavyweights in the last 15 years(if he beats Tyson). He already beat the best heavyweights of the last 15 years except Tyson.
Your absolutely right that here in Canada we don’t support our amateur and olypic athletes financially near enough. But Lewis left after he turned pro. As a pro it would not have made a difference where he fought out of.
Klitschko won’t be given a title shot because he is white. What would the world of boxing do if a white guy won the heavy weight title? I think racism in the sport of boxing has changed from white on black to black on white.
America will happily open its arms to anyone and anything that can make us money. Give us your tired, your poor, your sports-champs, your scientists, your agricultural specialists, your comedians, your actors…if they can make us rich we’ll gladly return the favor!
And they say Americans are insular…lol we just have a strong sense of the bottom line…
Phew thought I was gonna get flammed for that. Hehehe. Thanks for setting me straight Magnus. Guess that doesn’t make him sound as good. Still want him to kill Tyson though. elegua: Your exactly right about everything in your post. Canada doesn’t realize that to make money you have to spend money. Canadian people are great…Canadian leaders are 100% morons. ![]()
Molsonman, you have no idea what you’re talking about.Tyson never lost to Lewis in the amateurs,he lost 2 amateur fights(if memory serves me correct),Alex Stewart and Henry Tillman. Both of which he annialated in one round after his loss to “Buster” Douglas(who he had down for 12 seconds in the 8th round).Lewis beat Riddick “Slow” in the 88 olympics for the gold medal.Larry Holmes was beat by Tyson in 4 in 88,but Tyson was already unified champ, and had already beat 4 previous champs. Please, before you say things, get your facts straight.Tyson was awesome, and still is,although he’s not as good as he was
Check this out folks:
Murad: Jones-Hopkins 90% done! By George Mahl
At the IBF convention Friday night in New Orleans, Fightnews confirmed that undisputed light-heavyweight Roy Jones Jr. and former promoter Murad Muhammad are now together again. The two took several pictures together when the Pensacola native was presented with the Jersey Joe Walcott award by IBF President Marian Muhammad. M&M Sports promoter Murad Muhammad explained. "Roy asked me to handle his affairs for his next fight...we seperated on our own terms last time and it just so happens that we met up again." Muhammad hopes this is the last time Jones and he have to come together. "Let's hope the next time Jones and I leave on our own is because Roy wants to retire." Muhammad said a Jones-Hopkins fight is 90% done. "I am ready to announce that Roy Jones Jr has agreed to the principals and conditions of a fight with Bernard Hopkins." However, just less than 48 hours ago undisputed middleweight king Bernard Hopkins told fightnews "I'm going to Atlantic City with my attorney and we are going to talk to Don King about a re-match with Trinidad". Hopkins also told Fightnews that if a Trinidad fight falls through than he may elect to fight long time WBO 168 pound king Joe Calzaghe. Muhammad did say that the ball is in Don King's and Bernard Hopkins' court. "Roy has agreed, HBO has agreed, Kerry Davis [HBO matchmaker], all we are waiting on is Hopkins and King to agree." When asked about all of this, Jones said " Anybody can put their title up and come and get it." Muhammad concluded by saying "Its really up to Bernard Hopkins. Roy isn't holding up the deal."
I'm sure Ko wanted to "report" this to the forum, but he's at work right now, so I get the "honors". He he he. All I can say about this? Wow. Cool. I hope it happens! AND that I'm also looking forward to the Barrera/Morales rematch. I'm amazed no one has mentioned that upcoming fight (June 22). Oh, and Holyfield won last night as did Michael Grant - but I'm sure you guys know this already.....
Patricia :-)
Tyson was never awsome. He beat chumps to become the champ. You can be a sheep and believe the media hype but just look at the people he beat. Most of them look fat and old. If you don’t think Lewis beat Tyson in the amateurs then complain to the boxing show I was watching.
Thanks for the info Patricia. Ought to be a badass fight if it happens.
Racism? Thats funny. The only reason there hasn’t been a white heavyweight champion, is because until now there has not been any one good enough. Name one if you can. Klitschko is the WBO champ so the winner of the Tyson/Lewis fight will have to fight him if they want to unify the belt. As far as Lewis getting paid, it is true, but it was so that Tyson could fight Seldon for the WBA belt, and move one step closer to unifying the heavyweights. Payoffs are a necessary evil due to the various sactioning bodies. Hopefully we will see an end to it with the new legislation being pushed by Senator Mcain. We may actually see a boxng league, just like the NFL/NBA/NHL Lewis could have easily demanded the fight, but chose to take the money (six million for doing nothing, kinda hard to turn down). As far as meeting in the amateurs,I doubt that happened simply because they came up at different times, and tysons amateur career was very short. I am still looking for their amateurs records though. What boxing show did you watch? I would like to know.
Hopkins/ Jones should be a great fight. Roy Jones readily admits that Hopkins was his toughest fight. Then we may see Trinidad fight the winner, if he does not go down to fight De La Hoya.
Did anyone see the Holyfield v. Rahman fight? Did it look like the headbutt was intentional? That seems to happen a lot in Holyfield fights. I didn’t get to see it yet.
I seen it last night. It looked a little intentional to me. Man, the knot on Rahman’s head was the size of a golf ball. Pretty sick.
Holyfield does tend to lead with his head with he closes the distance. Some say its just his style, others think that he does it intentionally so he can head butt (some think that he is the dirtiest fighter around). Tyson took offense and bit his ear off.
Lewis in 4. Tyson will fight as scared as he looks.
Lewis will win. I reckon Tyson will gas before the end or do something stupid and get disqualified. Tysons good, but Lewis is better.
Tyson will kill lewis if they time the way he comes off his medications. Lewis is an arrogant punk with a glass jaw and barely above average talent. Yes, tyson is crazy, yes, he’s older, but he is still hungry. You never underestimate a hungry competitor. And Klitchko would kill Lewis. He’s the same size but a hell of a lot more impressive and powerful.
I’ve heard in the past that Holyfield is famous for the “unintentional” headbutts. And isn’t that one of the complaints that Tyson had on their “fights”? No that I would have bit the ear of my opponent after a headbutt…
Mind you, that I am a fan of Holyfield's past accomplishments in the ring, but that is what I've heard....
