Hello, I’m wanting some second opinions on my current training reg.
I am an experienced bodybuilder and powerlifter, about 12 yrs exp. I am 32yrs old and weigh a solid 280. I still can hack squat 500 for 6 and bench press 405 for 6 or 7, so i am as big and strong as i have ever been at squats but used to be able to bench 405 over 10 times.
My question is: do you think I am doing to many double joint movements per workout? On chest day I have been starting with heavy incline and then moving to heavy flat and decline presses. The problem is, by the time I get to the 2nd and 3rd movement for some reason my strenth is just sapped out and I have a horrible sticking point on these later movements.
I am wondering if my triceps are’nt totally worn out do to the all the heavy pressing movements. Does anyone think it a good idea to stick to one very heavy and intense press movement(rather it be flat, incline or decline) for 3 or 4 sets and then move to more targeted movements like dumbell and machine flies? Or am I just getting old? Thank for any opinions.
