Do any of you turn off your AC in the car or house just to be tough?
I do. Also, I make sure I start the day with a mug of nails and listen to gangster rap 24/7. I’m so tough that even Vanilla Ice thinks I’m tough.
You guys are all tough, but me, I’m not seeing much a reason for them not to turn it one when it’s that temperature and humidity, or at least to get some fans in there.
Dripping with sweat after a workout is expected. Doing so when you walk in the door is unacceptable, IMO.

I’m a pussy though, oh well :D
My new house has no AC. We have 3 large trees that provide enough shade to keep the house comfortable.

Yeah, I’ve gained 23 lbs in the last 5-6 months, so I must be doing something wrong because I like to workout in a controlled temperature environment.
seriously, I’m with DK.

You are leaving a HUGE carbon footprint on the earth by using your AC way too much. Al Gore and his band of environmental thugs are on their way to your place to teach you a lesson. You will be forced to watch “An Inconvenient Truth” for 4 days straight, a la Clockwork Orange style torture, until you mend your ways.

where do you live that you don’t have AC?

Oregon.
But honestly, even when I have lived somewhere warmer, I’ve only turned it on for the very hottest days.
Right now, I wish my gym was warmer. I have been going to a massage therapist to work out some issues, and she doesn’t want me to do anything fun in the gym. I am stuck with light front squats and some upper body work. I can do light bicycle and fast walking as well.

I hate not being able to work up a good sweat.
Same here. I prefer my gym hot as hell, but not for any real ‘tough guy’ reasons. It seems to help me warm up. Plus, I just like it when my workouts end up with me in a pool of sweat.
Rent Pumping Iron and look at the wonderfull airconditioned utopia which was home to so many great’s…I really feel for you, must be tuff to start sweating like that while doing physical exersice…I know that I personally have to change my shirt the first sighns of sweat beating up through the fabric
ok sorry for the sarcasm just suck it up or change gym’s

I like it for the warm up thing too. I hate warming up, so the quicker I can get through that the better.

Again from a garage stand point, its nice when its warm out because i dont feel like i “cool off” during my workouts which is a real problem for me come january and february when its 30 degrees in the place. My little space heater just laughs at me when i try and heat the room up wtih it.
