maybe bring your own fan and set it up next to you…
At least your gym has AC.
I interned in New Orleans all summer and signed up for a gym that was totally old school and bad ass… and AC less. In the New Orleans summer. It was definitely cooler outside, impressively. Suck it up man, you get used to it. I walked outside in between sets to catch the breeze.

ACSM guidlines are the gym need to be 68-72* . I ran into this issue with the gym I work for.
The AC units were old and it was like 78* one day inside which is just ridiculous.
It’s actually a liability for the gym to operate outside of that temperature range. I’d talk to management stating the above ACSM guidelines
This shit cracks me up. I’m old enough to remember the days before everything was air conditioned. What were the guidelines back then?
As much as I enjoy AC, I think it’s contributing to the physical pussification of the USA.
Unless you have asthma, lung disease, or are frail and elderly to begin with, you can still tolerate the heat and humidity. People with outdoor jobs do this everyday. Are they tougher than you?

You really shouldn’t hold back. How do you really feel?

I work out in my garage, too, after I run 3-5 miles without a/c. Dude, I’m tougher than you*. If you knew me, you’d realize how really lame that makes you.
Also, go to a drug store and invest $20 in a box fan.
*The OP, that is. I’m not tougher than Yo Momma.
I bet all you assholes saying suck it up have the AC blasting in your car. Yeah, yeah, the first fucking FORD that ole Henry put out didn’t have AC either, but I’m damn glad we do now. My great great grandparents didn’t have electricity, so I leave the lights on when I ain’t home to use their share for them.

thanks DK. It has nothing to do with machismo or other BS, I like to be comfortable when I workout, not sucking humid air that zaps my energy.
Same reason swimmers like to have the pool a certain temp.
Pathetic; stop crying.
I’m in Arkansas and I lift in my shed without fans or A/C by CHOICE.
The heat aids in fat loss. It should be welcomed.

really? that’s news to me.
I thought it was temporary water loss, but what do I know
I should add that I work out during the middle of my shift so I don’t like to be drenched in sweat since I don’t have time to shower. Not that I mind sweating, but I don’t want to be dowsed in it.

Short Hoss, what part of AR?
Hot as a mutha today and yesterday.

Wasn’t as hot today; high is only 99. I’m in central/southern Arkansas.
It’s pretty funny, it looks like I have oil on me after lifting due to so much sweat.

Yea, it’s nice having a pool (albeit not one in the ground) to jump into right after lifting.
The only bad thing is that I have to throw bags of ice in it to make the water cold.

If you’re comfortable when working out, you’re doing something wrong.

Does that include passing gas, because I usually do that when I’m comfortable?

Rightttttt…I pay 50 bucks a month for my membership, I’ll be damned if they are gonna skimp on the AC. Comfort has little to do with my training, if there was a correlation Ronnie Coleman would workout barefooted on broken shards of glass. This is kinda like the coach that makes you run your dick (vag) off to increase “mental toughness.” Pure BS. If you WANT to train like that, more power to you.
But, it is foolish to assume someone is a pussy cuz they like to workout elsewhere besides the surface of the sun. Plus I don’t want to lay on a bench after some sweaty sack has been drenching the equipment. Oh, and I will be damned if my gym doesn’t give complementary mint juleps, and cucumbers to rest on my eyes while I tan. (last part was sarcasm for you donks)
Yeah, I’ve gained 23 lbs in the last 5-6 months, so I must be doing something wrong because I like to workout in a controlled temperature environment.
seriously, I’m with DK.
Do any of you turn off your AC in the car or house just to be tough? probably not, why would it be any different for a workout when your body temp is actually increased.
I’m a pussy though, oh well
I don’t have AC in the house, and I usually don’t use it in the car. Actually, this car is the first I have ever owned with AC.
But I have to say, I really hate AC.
And, yes, we know you are a pussy.

Hence me liftin’ alone.
where do you live that you don’t have AC?
