This Heat is Brutal

96* here in MD with heat index I’m sure well over 100.

One of the AC units at my gym is broken, so it’s 78* in the fitness center.
It’s a struggle to workout when it’s 73 or above (I can’t do the same weight for all my sets, and it takes my almost twice as long to complete the workout).

It’s 78* in here now, this is BS.

anyone else struggling with the heat? does it affect your performance?

Sorry, but I don’t mind it. This is close to what it feels like in the desert (Iraq). I tend to do a lil better in the heat for some reason. Hell, I had some of my best gains ever in the heat.

too hot

We are over 100 in some parts of the city. This is when I support energy system training. I have a little extra something in the tank for lifting on days like today.

However, I certainly won’t do any sprints today.

Tarzan could not take this kinda hot.

Same here, except for the Iraq part.

I hope the heat keeps the monday crowd out of the gym today so I have room to do stuff for once.

99 and raining here in columbia sc

Yup, it’s silly hot.

It rained for like 20 minutes last night, felt so good. Then right back to being incredibly hot after, and humid =[

I lift in a garage. No heat, no ac. Summer sucks, but it is what it is.

Suck it up, you pussy. I train outside and it’s been 100 the last couple of days. That does NOT include the humidity, which is so thick you could cut it with a knife. As we were discussing in the T-Cell the other day, training is a blessing, count yourself lucky every time you are privileged enough to get under the iron.

The heat is trying to kill one of my tomato plants, though.

On Saturday it was so fucking humid I thought I woke up in Cuba. The heat I can tolerate, but it’s the steam room climate that really does me in.

Mid 70s and sunny today though.

I moved to London for a reason - and it wasn’t the heat!

I swear it was like a sauna today - I have to cycle 30min to work, and then 30 min to the gym so I spent almost 2 hours trying to get my workout done today, while towling down in between sets.

It’s ridiculous - bring back the clouds.

You’d think I’d be used to it being born and raised in South Africa.

haha its always a breezy 70ish degrees down here in souther California. Living by ocean is awesome.

It was 98 degrees here…with 50%humidity. Doesn’t bother me as far as weight workouts…but it damn near gives a authentic “Thailand” feel to muay thai class as we don’t have AC.

Its helping build tolerance to it as long as I stay hydrated(I love Smart Water).

I can’t handle the heat, never have. It’s been high 90’s, and the humidity is just terrible.

I like cold. All I can keep thinking about is the mini blizzard we had just a few months ago. I spent 3 hours shoveling 4 feet of snow out of a driveway that’s 20 feet long, and I did it all in a tshirt, cotton shorts, and a pair of commando boots. Felt so good.

46 for a high here at 2700 ft. elev. in MT tomorrow. Snow in the mountains above 4000 ft.

The cool air will feel good when I read this thread about the sauna.[/quote]

Wait, 4000 ft is when your mountains start?

Wow, that’s boring.

That was the one nice thing about TX heat when I was there, the humidity wasn’t that bad. In MD, more often than not it’s near 100% when it’s really hot out
