Trying to Bulk; Still Hungry

but i do have a question for you prof x, and i know this was brought up earlier in the thread, but why is it that when me or the OP or when others are eating every 2-3 hours we constantly feel hungary? but when im busy at work at i’ll only get to eat maybe twice in about a 14 hour period i dont feel the hunger? i mean i do understand that the body utilizes the nutrients more efficiently with a constant supply of macros, and that the body is very adaptive and will get used to the constant flow of nutrients, but i mean i have seen that it has nothing to do with a carb/ fat/ protien distribution of a meal, when im constantly eating every 3-4 hours i will feel extremely hungary after exactly 4 hours, but when my diet has been fucked up for a few days, i can go 8 hours without realizing im hungary[/quote]

There are many hormones involved when food is digested and I also notice I am hungrier hours after high carb meals. I also know I can be dying of hunger for several hours, but if I get through that, my body tends to switch towards stored fuel sources (protein and fat) to keep me going.

I am also not sure why this is a problem for you unless you are dieting. The average bodybuilder who actually has some size on him is doing some major damage in the kitchen. I know I alone go through about 3lbs of beef a day AND THAT IS WHILE I AM TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. Most would WELCOME being more hungry so they could get more food in.

Your body is also geared towards getting as much food in while food sources are plentiful in case of periods of “famine”. Outside of third world countries, however, most of us are not experiencing a drought as far as food intake. That means when you are able to constantly supply your body with food, it tries to get as much n as possible. When you go without, it turns inward and eats itself to provide fuel.

As a bodybuilder, there should be very few days where you would be going without food like that. I can’t even remember the last time I dealt with that. I usually eat SOMETHING every 3 hours or so aside from very low carb days where my food intake is largely just the MAG-10 over a few hours along with fish oils…like today.

Sometimes after working out I get an insatiable hunger for 2-3 hours following the workout… Like now, just ate a 600g pizza and I’m still pretty damn hungry. Actually I think I’ll go get me some pork chops now

Don’t know if that is the same thing you are talking about tho, but generally I would definately listen to the body and give it what it wants.

thank you prof x

thank you.

whenever i get ravenous hunger, i see it as sign that im doing something right because my body wants fuel…I may eat up to 3lbs of meat on those days…on other days, I will eat less and drink more shakes…shit, i even base whether i eat chicken or beef off my instincts…

If you are training your ass off, I wouldnt be afraid to eat a lot of muscle building foods(beef, whole eggs, chicken) and good energy sources(Potatoes, rice, etc)…Your body needs it to grow…so why not feed it…
