Frankly, the Norwegians are so annoyingly wealthy that the only way to lure them is by promising a warmer climate. I know that many come to California for a year or two after graduating to experience the “lifestyle” (whatever that means) but come back to the fold soon enough.
Gone are the days when starving semi-literate Norwegian farmers from mud log cabins would settle for Minnesota.

What’s even more amazing is that in terms of real estate trading it wasn’t a bad deal at all - the old Embassy building was sold forr around 600 million dollars and the alleged “1.2 billion” is just… well, fake news.

Those places are shitholes, that’s why people want to leave them. I cannot work up any outrage. People get worked up about the dumbest things. My family immigrated here to get away from living in a communist shithole. It wasn’t a shithole until it became communist, then it was a deluxe shithole.

Yes, a president, a leader, someone who has to play the role of diplomat should refer to other nations as shitholes.
Imagine the outrage if the Norwegians said they don’t want to move here because the US is a shithole. And if they based their opinion on Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, etc.,they would be right.

It’s outrageous on so many levels, I don’t know where to start. The damage to the dignity of the office of the POTUS; the strain it will place on our relations with those nations (many of whom provide invaluable assistance in our anti-terrorism efforts); the effect on Americans who are immigrants (or descendants of immigrants) from those countries; the repercussions of the unmistakable racial component (especially when placed in the context of his ‘Norway’ comment).
That’s just off the top of my head. No doubt about it: This was a disastrously outrageous comment.

Just because you aren’t intelligent enough to think it doesn’t deserve outrage doesn’t make it so. It just means your ignorance is part of the problem. He’s not a faceless person on some fucking message board he’s the president of the United States. And yes as the leader and when everyone can see you a certain level of decorum should be expected and hoped for as we are all listening to what this person says. They are the most covered person in the world.

You do realize that you would still be in that country or at least not this one if the leader whenever your family immigrated said why would we want these people like pats family coming from this shithole country. Keep people like pats family out of this place. We don’t want people like that. And other Americans agreed. Keep people in the shithole country Pat is from there.
How can you not get this? I mean I can’t even fathom how. He’s pissing on people who were exactly like your family in some way. And worst of all the lack of empathy shown by a billionaire in the worlds biggest superpower to people from these countries. For someone who posts about God all the time you sure don’t seem to have much in common with Jesus.

In a separate matter, a Trump casino, the Trump Taj Mahal, was charged with violating anti-money-laundering regulations 106 times in 1990 and 1991 by failing to file timely reports identifying gamblers who bought or cashed out $10,000 or more in chips. The reports aim to spot gamblers who might be laundering money. The casino paid the Treasury Department a $477,000 fine in 1998 without admitting wrongdoing.

Because Trump said he didn’t want people from the country of Africa coming here, duh.
Saying you want people who happen to be white to come here instead of people who happen to black might make it appear to be racist.
This is what keeps getting me. So many people are like “HE DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE.” At what point do we just accept that making statements that are geared at black vs white in a completely basic sense come off as racist?
If Iran suddenly stopped using the word Jew and instead said “those people from Jerusalem are the worst but I really love those Syrians” would all these people go “Wow Iran doesn’t have a problem with Jews anymore!”
