Donald Trump was visiting a primary school and he visited one of the classes. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.
The teacher asked the President if he would like to lead the discussion on the word “tragedy”. So the illustrious leader asked the class for an example of a “tragedy”.
One little boy stood up and offered: “If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs over him and kills him, that would be a tragedy.”
“No,” said Trump, “that would be an accident”
A little girl raised her hand: “If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy.”
“I’m afraid not,” explained the president. “That’s what we would call great loss.”
The room went silent. No other children volunteered. Trump searched the room. “Isn’t there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?”
Finally at the back of the room a small boy raised his hand…
In a quiet voice he said: “If ‘Air Force One’ was carrying you and was struck by a “friendly fire” missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy.”
“Fantastic!” exclaimed Trump. “That’s right. And can you tell me why that would be tragedy?”
“Well,” said the boy, “It has to be a tragedy, because it certainly wouldn’t be a great loss, and it probably wouldn’t be a fucking accident either”.
So it turns out Mueller and his team were not the impetus behind the Cohen raid. Rather, it seems Mueller et al uncovered evidence of criminality on the part of Cohen, then passed that evidence along to the US Attorney for the Southern District of NY. It was this US attorney who successfully pursued the requisite search warrant, and who authorized and conducted the raids. So this event in no way can be construed as overreach on Mueller’s part.
Importantly, this US attorney (Geoff Bingham) is a Trump appointee–a Republican who, per reporting, donated $5400 to Trump’s campaign. So much for the Deep-State Conspiracy.
I do not watch Hannity, so have no first-hand knowledge in this regard. But I strongly suspect you are correct. I often wonder how people like him manage to make eye contact with themselves in the mirror.
"The publisher of The National Enquirer reportedly paid a former Trump building doorman to keep him quiet about a rumor regarding Donald Trump’s sex life.
The New Yorker and the Associated Press published stories saying that National Enquirer publisher American Media Inc., paid $30,000 in late 2015 to Dino Sajudin, a former doorman at a Trump building to prevent him from publicizing a rumor that Donald Trump fathered a child out of wedlock. Sajudin told the tabloid he had heard Trump fathered a child with a Trump employee in the late 1980s, according to the reports."
Jerry Brown is deploying 400 national guard troops to the border. Putting that down under things I never thought would happen.
He claims they won’t be used to enforce immigration law. They are there to thwart “transnational crime”.
Hell just froze over a little bit.
So that’s Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California. I haven’t heard about Nevada yet. For all the hand wringing it sounds rather reasonable if Jerry Brown and Trump can play ball… anything can happen.
If some guy called you and said he’d put 400 of your employees to work with essentially no downside for the employees and that he’d be paying for it instead of you, what would you say?
Tbh I’m surprised it took this long for everyone to come around. It’s a slam dunk for free re-election points
