Trump: The First Year

Aren’t you from Boston? If not then this doesn’t apply to you but I went to college in MA and the things white people would say about blacks, or what non-Portuguese whites would say about the Portuguese, in my presence was not something I was prepared for as a 17 year old. And it wasn’t always explicit but implied racism.

I would say gullible racists would be more apt to believe it and continue believing it.

To quote one Tommy Lee Jones, “People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.”

I think any of the other candidates would have been different. I’m not saying they would have been good but they would have at least had a plan. Trump doesn’t get criticized for his ideas but his lack of ideas.

That would be sweeter than his victory over Clinton! I’m 100% on board with kicking Trump out of office via the process outlined in the 25th Amendment! What’s the guy’s approval rating? 35-40%? Nothing but good could come from pissing off that number of people!

This is part of what gets me. We’re, what, 20% through his term. What is his agenda? Does anyone actually know? Is it to get NFL players to stop kneeling? Is it to build the wall (huge progress). Is it tax reform (also huge progress). Is it higher GDP growth, more jobs, spending cuts? Wasn’t ISIS supposed to be defeated by now? Is he pushing a re-work of the VISA program? WTF is he doing?

I bet he’s tweeted as much about Rosie O’Donnell as he has about policy. The man is all over the place and it’s such a waste of a golden opportunity.

I get that, and I’m not even arguing whether it is or not.

It’s your opinion it is, and that is what it is.

This is all more depressing than any of it.

If he did, he should hang.

People are literally accusing a man of treason. That isn’t a light charge, and should carry a significant punishment.

Then I think we should temper the rhetoric then, because it will become birthism, 9/11 truther or flat earth like.

Birthism started before the primaries were even over in 2008. And was going on during the general.

Again, when do these people have to pass this basic background check so I know not to be “retardspeak” with questions?

Yes, they did. Journalists are members of the public.

Then you get this

Unreal.

Maybe when Obama was running for and won a seat in the Senate.

I think you’re viewing the presidency through rose colored glasses.

It’s sort of the point that enough people aren’t going to be happy with whoever it is.

People hated FDR and the man won, a LOT.

Fuck McCain. Dude deserves every ounce of shit he gets.

Yes, for the most part.

There was almost zero implied racism in my experience. People were always pretty open about it if they were. But I’ve also spent enough time around non-whites to know that it isn’t just white racists out there.

There are good people in the world, and assholes. Skin pigment and ethnicity doesn’t really change that fact.

walls, repeal & replace, kicking subsidies down to congress like Obama should have, “no new regulations”, significant tax reform, infrastructure spending, tariffs, increased deportation, paid leave, and pointing out the press is full of shit are all ideas I’ve seen come from him.

I swear people just don’t see the bigger picture if their guy isn’t winning…

That wouldn’t have a disastrous effect on our system of government and passing off of power, now would it.

You can’t be serious. I less than half pay attention and can answer every single one of these things.

Come on man.

Another lie (on his part). While he wasn’t an elected official, he was neck-deep in politics and patronage. Put another way, he was the swamp, or at least a swamp creature. He was as establishment as a non-pol can be.

By no rational accounting could Corker, Flake or McCain be considered RINOs. Again, it is only the funhouse-mirror contours of ‘Trump GOP’ that allow such a thing to be suggested.

What does his “rise” have to do with anything?

This is true. He was establishment as all get-out, but was not establishment GOP. In fact, I’m surprised he hasn’t started tweet-attacking that noted establishment Republican ‘Crazy Ronnie Reagan’ for his positions. (I say that because, as was the case with Frederick Douglas, I doubt Trump knows the man’s long dead.)

And you’d lose that bet, because this is not a ‘toeing the line’ issue. Corker, Flake and McCain have no problem with the broad sweep of Trump’s stated goals; eg, they’re all-in on repealing/replacing Obamacare, tax reform; etc. No, their objections are not to Trump’s policies; rather, their problem is with the man’s nature, his essence, his character–in short, his fitness to be POTUS. This is not about an outsider taking control of the policy reins and steering legislation in a direction they don’t like.

I know; see my Trump quote above on the subject. When it was suggested to him, he initially balked.

Senators only need a decade of citizenship. (I think it’s a decade.)

They do NOT have to be natural born citizens.

So no. That question would be irrelevant at that point in time.

McCain has been called a RINO by conservatives for decades. He constantly tries to reach across the isle and offer an olive branch to dems only to come back with a bloody stump. He was a RINO long before Trump was lol.

Trump didn’t expect to win. He’s flying by the seat of his pants. If he even makes a feeble attempt to fulfill his campaign promises he’ll be more honorable than 95% of the swamp.

But wouldn’t they, in the process of verifying whether or not he was qualified, discover the nature of his citizenship?

All of those ideas Trump had were not really ideas. He didn’t have an answer for how or what.

Good fucking lord dude. Just jesus chirst with this.

You’re not even coming close to addressing the point I was trying to make.

lmao… You’d actually have a leg to stand on if you’d stop throwing McCain in there. There isn’t a much better example of an establishment RINO in the god damn Senate then him.

Look, you really don’t get right wing think, at all man. Just please stop as if you’re an authority on it, because you’re not. This isn’t an insult.

This can’t be serious.

Blatant lie

Also from the piece lol:

Given McCain’s stature among among the centrist bloc in the Senate

_ He wants to do everything he can to restore comity and normalcy to the chamber he has called his work home since 1987_

Yes, 30 years in the senate and he isn’t an establishment RINO. lol

So at that, I can’t be compelled to continue reading the rest of your comment, because it seems very… trump like.

I have a bridge to nowhere I would like to sell, you seem like the perfect buyer.

Why would they even ask where he was born. It was pretty obvious he’d been here for more than 9 years, and at that point there was near zero reason for any 3 letter agency to question if he was a “proper” citizen or not.

The fuck would they even look at it at that point?

jesus this dude could cure cancer and you’d guys would bitch he put doctors out of a job…

I now know how pittbullllll and mufasa felt on this board when Obama was POTUS lol.

Yeah man… I just can’t even with this shit anymore.

Once a progressive gets to name who is or who isn’t a conservative to fit his argument, I’m done. I really can’t even continue at this point.

Fuck John McCain, fuck em. He deserves every ounce of shit he gets.

From people yes.

Shame he’s got cancer though. That’s no way to go.

You’re in the wrong country if you expect the punishment to fit the crime in regards to rich people and/or pols.

Except the largest difference is there’s smoke here. A LOT of smoke. Birther movement didn’t have smoke. Shit the birther movement didn’t even have kindling.

I dont have the necessary security clearance to know at what point our acronym agencies look into POTUS candidates. I shudder to think of a world where they don’t.

Except journalists didn’t catch them. Members of govt that passed info to them did.
