You’d have to ask his youngest son. He’s so good with computer. Bigly computers.

Hmmmm: Rex Tillerson is taking a little time off, says State Department
Rexit?

None. Sessions will be gone soon, and what sane, qualified person will want that job now?
Any AG will want the requisite independence. Everyone now knows they aren’t going to get it, and they are going to be harangued on social media from day one.
So now, the inevitable conclusion is that instead of an experienced, ethically-beyond-reproach lawyer to serve as the nation’s chief law enforcement officer - as we all want - we’re all but guaranteed to get some sycophantic flunkie who will be more interested in protecting Trump than seving justice.
Golf clap, Trump voters.
This is another “head scatcher” for me, TB:
Why the President views the “Russian” investigation…and their intrusion into the Election Process of the United States… as people somehow questioning the legitimacy of his win…instead of what it truly is…a National Security Issue…
Is it all really just about him?
Is it ever not? ![]()
By all indications; his base support merely gets stronger with every Tweet…
Maybe that’s the point…
(By the way…I think the “Gator Chomp” would be WAY cooler…!)
As I’ve been saying before, Trump’s behavior is neither strange nor unusual - just typical wannabe-dictator stuff.
It’s just that for you guys this is uncharted territory, those of us who have witnessed such attempts in other countries and political systems clearly see where all of this could be heading…
I hate it that you’re right, but you’re right.
Read the article. They are proposing eliminating most itemized deductions and doubling the standard deduction. So no, it isn’t an attack on Dem states. It may impact some high income families negatively, depending on their real estate taxes.
It’s not the republicans fault that blue states have high tax rates.
I read it. It’s a push to have blue states further subsidize red states.
“I know the White House is committed to bringing taxes down for everybody,” MacArthur (R-N.J.) said. “But people in high-tax states under the plan they’re proposing would basically be at a break-even while everyone else in the county enjoys tax relief. That’s not fair.”

They’re right in a sense. It’s not fair that NY taxes at 8.8% and California tops out at 13.3% while Texas and Florida are at 0%. Maybe voters in those states should change that at the ballot box or vote with their feet.
One problem though. It would take a fair amount of earned income to need to itemize after the proposed $24k standard deduction for families. So if the average state tax burden in the highest state from the article is $18k then the increased standard deduction would more than make up for it except for the highest earning families with lots of income or real estate.
The wealthy in blue states will find away to mitigate this tax rewrite personally, the wealthy always do.
Obligatory the wealthy already pay too much in taxes response and everyone needs skin in the game post
Ok I don’t actually believe that but if seems to pop up in every tax conversation.
I have a hard time feeling bad for people who constantly vote Dem for generations and complain their taxes are too high. State taxes are the highest in the deepest blue states. Makes sense really.
The tax and spend policies I’d like to see changed most are the ones regarding tax breaks and subsidies for favored industries and companies. No chance for graft and cronyism there.

Yep they are right in a sense, but I consider it just an offshoot flavor of the old progressive tax. It’s no more unfair than that, it just changes the target away from the traditional one.
Tillerson officially taking “time off” from State. Read the whole thing for more on the dysfunction at State.

Rexit?

So, no hate for those who voted 3rd party instead of HRC, and would have prevented a Trump presidency?
Just asking,

I think that’s fair, but how big is that list?
But more to your point, I’m including people who voted for Trump in the primaries as well.
Let’s also face facts - bad as she was, HRC would not have been as big a cockup as Trump at this point in her Presidency. HRC was a slimy pol who would be doing slimy pol things - with Trump, the integrity of the office of the Attorney General is under assault.
It’s a disgrace. Disagree?
Ďisgrace is being overly diplomatic.
At this point, all should be concerned - surrounding himself with family/yes men, attacking the neutrality of AG, and now Tillerson.
Indeed. I’m ready for Republicans to grow a spine and call him out on it. Wishful thinking I know
This article hits the nail on the head
Donald Trump is a naturally polarizing figure. His bread and butter is brazen attacks on those who challenge him. As a media figure and as a business promoter, that worked well. As president, however, Trump needs to pick his...
This article hits the nail on the head
I don’t know if I agree with everything in the article, but I do agree very much with this:
“Trump behaves as if he were the head of a corporation called the federal government and everyone were his employee subject to firing at his wish”
Yes that and the line about conservatives ‘having’ to vote gop, even though knowing they will be let down. Just too much effort to quote on tablet.
However, Sessions supporting Trump was the break he needed to get moving.
If Trump had have been in a preschool when growing up, his file would have said
Does not play well with others.
