Trump: The First Year

Totally agreed. He probably had the hardest job of anyone in the WH (perhaps save Priebus), He did just about as well as anyone could considering the BS Trump’s been making him spew over the past six months.

This is how I picture Spicer at the moment…

Great move for Spicer. Now, cash in on a tell all. I’d read it.

Press secretary is one position I would never want under any administration. You are paid to put a good spin on whatever the higher ups tell you, but with infinitely more pressure die to the scope of possible topics.

At least Spicer got out in time to not have to defend this flip flop:

“It’s good to see that the president and the attorney general now seem to share my belief in the effectiveness of the world’s greatest judicial system and its ability to keep the American people safe,” said former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., the leading voice in the Obama administration for using civilian courts. “Their previous positions were political and counterproductive.”

How’s it been without raj?

We think he had a gimmick but who knows. It’s certainly been difficult not to read from a new psycho website daily.

House and Senate reach bipartisan agreement to sanction Russia but, importantly, restrict Trump’s ability to lift or ease the sanctions. Congress is doing this to punish Russia for meddling in the election and, wait for it, “The sanctions review was included in the bill because of wariness among lawmakers from both parties over Trump’s affinity for Putin”:

Tell me, @thunderbolt23:

In what alternative Universe did the DEMS…the DEMS… become the “driving force” behind sanctions against Russia?

In the famous words of Captain Miller in “Saving Private Ryan”…

…“(Mike)…things have truly taken a turn for the surreal…”

Yes, this is a favorite among Republican flacks, but the Democrats can’t drive anything.

And you now have the GOP-controlled Congress putting policy in place to address two concerns they now believe to be true: Russia is a belligerent power that actively tried to influence the 2016 election that needs to be punished for doing so, and that Trump’s judgment is compromised with respect to Russia and Putin, either because of chumminess, being compromised, or both.

Not the “mainstream liberal media”. Not bloggers. Not the New York Times. Not Rachel Maddow.

Both houses of Congress, where Republicans decide everything at this point.

And what will be great about this is daring Trump to veto it. If he does, the first veto of his Presidency will be…to protect Russia.

I see that USA Today just published results of a poll that shows 42 - 42% people want Trump impeached vs not impeached.

This is the first poll I am aware of that covers public sentiment on impeachment for him. Standards disclaimers about polls with Trump apply, but that is not a small percentage.

Trump Jr really is the best wingman ever. From my anecdotal experience with my family and wife’s family, diehard Trumpers are having a reeeeeeally hard time reconciling that self leaked email.

First day or 2 people were still trying to hold on but he’s starting to bleed support on the Russia stuff hardcore after the Syria news dropped.

If he dont pee tape comes out for sure

Another day, which means another Tweetstorm before most people are taking their morning coffee. Another broadside against Jeff Sessions:

TB:

Maybe I’m asking the impossible…trying to get into the head of Trump…but I really don’t get this.

What is the “advantage” for Trump in playing out White House drama in public?

Why humiliate one of your cabinet in public?

What is the advantage? What is the Goal?

Again…I just don’t get it…

Read the article. They are proposing eliminating most itemized deductions and doubling the standard deduction. So no, it isn’t an attack on Dem states. It may impact some high income families negatively, depending on their real estate taxes.

It’s not the republicans fault that blue states have high tax rates.

There’s one little tiny detail that I find particularly fascinating - Trump believes that by using the BleachBit software one washes e-mails in actual acid - see the “acid washed emails” Trump’s tweet.

Strange behavior for a democratically elected President, pretty much regular stuff for a dictator.

Go to youtube, enter the name of any despot you can think of followed by the phrase “shouts at cabinet minister” and observe Trump-like behavior.
