Well, you should have referred me to the origional post in the first place. Until you said it, I didnāt know it existed. Meaning I just missed it.
Very astute analysis on the two party system in general, but I am afraid it has nothing to do with the bill or the matter at hand. The system is designed to be adversarial. Itās working as designed. That was done on purpose to prevent 50.1% of the population to inflict its ideology on the other 49.9% without say from the opposing side. See the republicans are mostly in charge of the government right now, but they cannot move without democrats; just like it was intended. The screeching is and has been always part of the process. Save the issue now, is the preservation of the core of our great institution or the dismantling of it. So the stakes are a little higher.
The HEROās act is a left-wing wish-list cobbled together haphazardly as a symbolic act initially. I remember when it was written. Itās full of money for abortion, diversity actions, and other crap that has nothing to do with helping regular people.

I am saying the optics of the stimulus delay are bad for Republicans. The Dems won the exchange. We can have opinions on who is actually at fault, but the perception that most people have is that the GoP is holding up the stimulus which isnāt playing well.

That tells me the optics are good for Trump. And Pelosi is the one constantly walking away.

Itās more a need than a want. It was the government that showdown the economy, so the government has to make up the difference. But we donāt need ādiversity panelsā or support for the arts in a corona virus relief package.
You can just slash sections based on the table of contents. This needs to be a lean, mean bill that addresses immediate needs. And why does specifically Congress, the HOR, get $5 million for the hell of it?

I can agree with this. I can agree with the sentiments conservatives have about unnecessary stuff in the bill.
However, from what I have seen the GoP is losing the optics battle because Trump shut down the negotiations. It would have been better to play along and not reach a deal than to announce that he is shutting down negotiations.
