I do agree with this. I donāt think DEI was originally intended to be a part of what became a larger, āwokeā line of thinking, however. āWokeā as an organization of ideals in to an identity of sorts didnāt exist at DEIās onset.
Like a spreading fire, woke ideology consumed DEI, brought in in-house and made it what it is now.
To reiterate a casually made comment, I do believe DEI was always misguided.

D.E.I. as a modern term was woke from the gate. It is just a way to introduce the equivalent of political commissars on the government payroll and throughout businesses. Itās all straight out of the USSR and PRC.
Forced integration of the military and public schools was the government wiping away references to race in their policies and laws, as were most other āforcedā integrations. Equal protection under the law, in other words.
Two totally different mechanisms for social change.

We can get very nitpicky about this so Iāll say that I agree with you about good intentions when it was affirmative action as articulated by JFK. Itās one thing to outlaw discrimination for various reasons but DEI is almost a separate policy or agenda than AA. Once the term DEI was used, it revealed its nefarious nature. Why? The word equity. Once that word was used, it signaled something terrible was coming. You can Diversity and Inclusion will result from AA and thatās perfectly fine and makes sense. But Equity? That requires more than legally removing obstacles to an individualās success. There is no law preventing a woman from becoming a fireman but most firemen are males. The only way to change that, and I believe a few departments have done this, is to lower the standards for women and impose quotas.

Yeah equity fucks the whole thing. I havenāt done a lot of homework on the issue and its origins, Iāve just seen well meaning policy meld in to the clusterfuck we have now, but if D.E.I. was the intentional bridge then the basis of my opinion in my original comment was wrong.
If anyone one is interested . Above is the physical fitness requirements for applying to be agent. The bare minimum requried is 20 points.

Apparently a whistle blower is now claiming several on the SS detail were from Homeland security more specifically the investigation division. We spend over $ 800 billion in national security a year. Your telling me SS is so understaffed they have to draw from another branch?
It has already been made, over and over now for the last decade plus. Thatās why thereās no original woke cultural treasures, built from the ground up. It is all woke remakes that suck. The mindset doesnāt create, it only corrupts.
Ironically, this was a central them of J.R.R. Tolkienās creative vision, presently in the process of being destroyed by shallow woke automatons in Amazonās Rings Of Power, S2.
In Tolkienās writing, all of existence was sung into being by a symphony of divine beings (including Gandalf) who were themselves brought into existence by The One, Eru. The discordant ones who brought everything known as evil into the world could not create in the same way. They could only take what was created and corrupt it for their own purposes of control or outright destruction. Elves existed prior to the sun and moon, first children of The One. Orcs exist through the capture, corruption and torture of Elves so terrible that it transformed their nature entirely.
Galadriel, one of the oldest, wisest, fairest, most powerful, most feminine and most regal characters in all of existence was demoted to a scouting party leader by Amazon. They girl-bossed her to realize their non-creative vision of corrupting a beloved and popular universe to shape it into something that aligns with their shallow, short-sighted view of the world.
Notice how this happens to nearly every cultural treasure they get their hands on. Just like Star Wars. Just like the United States Secret Service. They canāt build a USSS from nothing, because it would fail just as spectacularly as their attempts at organizing a DSA convention today does.

Secret Service is part of the DHS. I havenāt seen what the leaks are saying, but it could have to do with the fact that SS has multiple responsibilities. In addition to protecting the president, the secret service investigates counterfeiting. I assume that bodyguard for the president and counterfeit investigator are two rather different job skill sets. Someone trained to track counterfeiters might look pretty incompetent at protecting the president. Frankly, the fact that the SS does these two very different things is a side effect of history that should probably be laid to rest.

I hope Tolkien has come back and haunted the shit out of the creators of that show. Totally destroyed the character of Galadriel and how she was portrayed in the books (funnily enough, in the books she is an awesome female character).
Same with all the Star Wars BS shows that have nothing to do with a good science fiction story and everything to do with āThe Messageā.
