War changes people, and often not towards a good direction. Crime statistics always jump in country after a war. This happens every time. Now these traumatized people just come here.
And with muslims, there’s of course cultural reasons why they are over represented with sex crimes. Many of them don’t appreciate women much.
I need to add that I’ve worked with migrants and know personally several of them, and there are some great people. So I’m not categorically against immigration. But if you don’t adjust to society I feel it’s hard to justify why you should stay.

I don’t think they actually have a specific word like rape to describe the act. There are various euphamisms, but no name for the actual act of forcably having sex with a woman against her will.

Yes. Right around the time Trump “made it” and was bumping around with the wall street elite, the Clintons specifically and became a huge DNC donor. And I don’t want Epstein to be true, but it would be nice to see completely unredacted and unaltered files. He was certainly in Epstein’s direct circle.

In any case, depending on who you listen to, Iran was not a direct threat at this time, and we already took out their nuclear capabilities a year or two ago per Trump.
One of Trumps biggest campaign topics was being anti-war, which he followed through with the first time by winding down a multi-decade saga.
Something changed, and it wasn’t an attack on America.

You just summarized majority of western voter base for the last 30 years or so. Most people don’t care about environment, how human rights work around the globe or do people die somewhere because of war or starvation. What matters is that they have cheap steaks and gasoline.
How I see Iran’s war is that it does not seem to achieve much besides making things more expensive. Happy tp be proven wrong though.
Mexicans are from North America, if we wanna get technical. Still, they’re more permeable to assimilation than Muslims. Still, we also get a bunch of them here and the rise of violent crime cannot be denied. They also seem to like loud music at all all times, including night time. Do these people ever sleep?

I’d` like to see Iran’s regime fall. I know it usually results in something worse whenever that happens in the Middle East, but I think Iran has a better social infraestructure for a transition to a democratic regme. At least when I look at the Iranian diaspora, they are usually peaceful and well integrated, especially when compared to sunni fanatics who want to turn our societies into sharia shitholes.
Also, note how the Gretas of this world have nothing bad to say about that regime.

Mauritania ended slavery (on paper) in 1981. Saudi Arabia in the 60s.

Yeah… Slavery has been a norm for thousands of years. And it’s still used at times. Transatlantic slave trade is just like the Holocaust. A terrible tragedy and a crime, but just one in large row of atrocities in history.
Me too. Iran has a magnificent Persian history and culture, but this war seems unlikely to break the current regime. First I was more optimistic, but I’ doubtful that this war will achieve anything.

So if he’s been an Israeli asset for the last 40 years minimum, and Israel has a majority controlling stake in the US Government and society at large, why was Trump subjected to the most comprehensive state and media smear campaign ever conducted against a candidate and later sitting President?

He didn’t campaign on never using the military. He campaigned on no more generational wars. The jury is still out on what Iran ends up becoming.
Of course Israel has influence. Having an open society means just about anyone can have influence, including the Russians, the Chinese Communist Party, Somali warlords running healthcare fraud rings, and we shouldn’t ever sleep on The Finnish Menace, either.
What I’m not on board with is the idea that Isreal is some kind of grand puppet master controlling all the pieces that matter on the board. Even if they somehow were, I haven’t heard anyone explain what should be done about it besides sorting it out in the primary process or perhaps starting a new political party altogether that borrows heavily from German National Socialist ideas about geopolitics. Good luck selling Hitler was right with the American public.

Our cold war president Kekkonen was famous with his “sauna diplomacy”, where he influenced and smoothed relations with Soviet leaders in relaxed environment. Now people say Stubb is using “Golf diplomacy” on Trump.
I don’t honestly think Stubb has much influence, but he is excellent at making good impression.

For 47 years our leaders have been saying we need to take care of Iran as they facilitated the killing of hundreds (if not thousands) of Americans. For 47 years they’ve been shouting DEATH TO AMERICA. For 40 years, Iran has occasionally shut down the straight and seized tankers, holding the world hostage. For decades Iran has been pursuing nuclear weapons. During all that time our global policy has been to do dick about it beyond appeasement. That hasn’t worked out so well.
I know you are willing to bow to Mecca 5 times a day as long as gas is under $3 a gallon, but fuck that. Sometimes you have to suffer a little short term pain to make a difference.

I don’t feel sympathy for Iran’s regime, good riddance, but with current effort it will not disappear. There might be need for land invasion and maybe years of military presence. So you might have another Afghanistan or Iraq at your hands. It will possibly take years and cost thousands US of lives. Are you ready for that?
It all looks like US went ill prepared to this conflict and now they need to up their game.
