Trump: 2020 and Beyond

Completely agree, and you let the rot spread at your peril. It simply cannot be tolerated.

The British Labour Party gave it an inch and it spread throughout the membership and cabinet.

Trump is a garbage human and Hunter Nation sounds like a club for men with small penises.

I hope Sasse stays this sensible in the long run.

Interesting article. I have to think a path exists for either the GOP to return to sanity or something to spring up similar to that. The issue is Democrats may run almost entirely unchecked until that happens with the exception of some races they can avoid being nationalized. If they truly feel that doubling down on Trump is the way to go they deserve the continued beatdowns they will receive. But we need an alternate to Dems and that alternate for most of the nation is not going to be people like Taylor Greene that the current GOP is attracting.

Former CPAC chair on the event now.

“The Republican party really no longer stands for any kind of principles, conservative or otherwise,” Edwards told Burnett on Friday.

“The party seems now to be completely following the lead of one man wherever he goes, which is the definition of a cult,” he continued. “Now all that matters is, ‘Trump is for this, we’re for this.’ And that includes denying truth, denying fact, denying reality. It’s such a disconnect from what’s really happened in the world.”

“You know, they’re no different than the people who flock to other totalitarian leaders in other countries,” he added. “They’re no different than they are in Hungary, they’re no different than they used to be Germany. Whatever their great leader says, they do, and there’s no underpinning of fact, there’s no underpinning or concern about the norms of free democracy.”

You know what totalitarian leaders do in other countries?
They stay in the position by force.

Yes. I look forward to Obamala crushing him while he rebukes Republican voters to earn pats on the head from the Democrat media.

Trump used the mechanisms at his disposal to attempt to stay in power but he was saying that whatever their great leader says they do with fact and norms of free democracy being irrelevant. Luckily the US has some built in protections to prevent such a thing. But it’s not like we didn’t have a leader determined to stay in power by any means necessary.

But his supporters would like a coup. Maybe not all. But probably no small amount.

And does anyone actually think this didn’t happen or at the minimum cross Trump’s mind?

Logistically, it would be very hard for one man to take over the entire nation via a military coup. It’s also unnecessary.

Indeed it would be. My point was more the similarities. We shouldn’t judge Trump’s attempts at overturning the election as minor simply because he was unsuccessful.

All Trump supporters rejoice! The Biden administration only has 3 full days left in office. On March 4th, Trump will become President again.

The Trump hotel is hiking up their rates for the nights of March 3rd and 4th for the big event!

Throughout March, this room generally runs anywhere from $476 to $596 per night, with one noteworthy exception. For the dates of March 3 and 4, the king deluxe is selling for $1,331 per night, 180% above the base rate and more than double what a guest would pay any other night next month.

He was successful. He knows he lost and there was nothing he could do about it. He is now simply continuing what he did as president, that is, monetize his position. He is continuing that as a ex president. It’s all about fleecing the rubes. But, if God didn’t want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep.

The idea that our tax dollars are going to protecting a bunch of politicians from America’s dumbest citizens is a sad commentary on how idiotic we have become as a nation. We’re more concerned about homegrown imbeciles than we are foreign terrorists or some lone mass shooter.

Would be interesting to know if church donations have went down as many Christians now worship a new savior.

The lockdowns were really tough on churches in regards to donations. I don’t think it is surprising that many churches were some of the most vocal opponents to them (in many cases defying the orders).

1 data point is my parent’s church. They only get something like 10% of their money through the offering plates at the services. The vast majority comes as recurring monthly auto payments from folks. It really shouldn’t have been any tougher on them than any other economic downturn, and the ability to attend in person services shouldn’t have stopped donations from the congregation.

They should ask for a tax break.

Sorry for not being more clear. Mine was a little tongue in cheek that Christians aren’t giving to the church anymore because they would rather donate to a stop the steal campaign or something. It wasn’t really meant as a serious thought to explore.

That is asking too little. I think PPP loans (grants) is more appropriate.

I don’t see how one could take issue with tax dollars being funneled into religious organizations?

The idea that tax dollars are being handed out to several of the dioceses that are responsible for raping children and hiding it makes my blood boil.

That is smart. Really smart.

I saw it as satire. I just veered a different direction. It is troubling to me to see many of what I thought were principled people follow the opposite of what I thought their principles were.
