I’d rather he express it, because even though we probably have the same position, he’s a lot better and smarter with good big words anat.
The theory may seem outlandish, but here it goes anyway.
The peculiar aspect of American service culture is the tacit agreement that the client pays a part of the service worker’s assumed financial compensation directly (a tip) in exchange for culturally defined pageantry (“service with a smile” etc.) which is significantly more elaborate that in other countries - elsewhere known as “I don’t give a fuck about your name or the fact that you’ll be my waiter tonight”
Usually, either of the parties can protest if the unspoken terms of this agreement are broken - if the service worker does not partake in the culturally defined pageantry or the client fails to provide direct payment (“a tip”).
The protesters believed that they have provided payment - their time, emotional investment and in many cases travel costs - only to be denied adequate service at the season finale - the event they believed to have bought (deserved) proverbial tickets to.
That is kind of where I thought it would go. Yeah.
We have a big “My money” thing happening here. People really do think that they pay for these things and basically own someone for a period of time or for an expected behavior or performance, and a lot of folks have gotten really rotten about it. Like, they’ll act like complete pigs on purpose and feel completely entitled to do so because “I worked for that money and so will you…”, when actually, those rank and file morons have no fucking idea what a lot of money actually is or means outside of their own wallet.
And when they don’t experience the satisfaction their disproportionate level of expectation has created they explode like constipated 3 year olds.
I would hate to have a large part of my income based on the “kindness” of strangers. Especially if they are stingy already (I’m tipping low no matter what) or hold something against you that’s out of your control (the food took a while but you just deliver it you didn’t cook it or you’re not the reason it’s Saturday night and packed).
One of the last times I ate out was at a TGIFridays. The waitress actually sucked. Like there were a ton of things that were just no good.
Anyhow, the one thing that got my attention was when she actually said, completely Non-sequitur, “This is my only job, and I’m going to CCAC (local com. college) so it would be good if you gave me a nice tip…” then stood there like I was supposed to give her one right then. In the middle of a cold microwaved dinner.
I laughed and said “Here’s a tip. Work at a better place with more expensive entrée, and you’ll make 20% of a lot more money than here.”.
She didn’t seem very happy, and never returned to the table, but we did reward her crappy behavior with the standard 20% anyways.
Felt kind of bad for her, actually.
Yeah I don’t think you’re obligated to reward shitty service and I’ve never had a service person in my life tip bag like that. I would be turned off and probably say something about it.
I’ve never heard anything like that in my life. I started wondering if she was sleeping in her car or smoking shorties out of the ashtray out front.
Just for arguments sake what exactly did you think was revolting? Please be specific, because where I come from a grown man doesn’t wilt like a complete pussy, when someone says something they don’t agree with.
Whilst I was trying to offend, certain individuals because of their refusal to look objectively at various issues, I want to make sure you are actually angry for the right reasons, and not something you imagine I think.
Yeah, this is super rare and also a major problem for me (as someone who worked in hospitality for years). There are people out there who do this, which is just the reverse of the shitty patron loppar talks about.
Tip culture has problems, but 99% of those originate with either the employer (employee has no control over that when almost every restaurant does it) or the customer.
Link is being wonky but Trump campaign paid organizers of pre riot rally which isn’t surprising but still.

Good lord. The more that comes out the more insane this is.
Another peek into the stupidity of the election fraud people. Who are essentially admitting the challenges were based on the results.
Pressed again to provide at least one specific example of election fraud, he responded, bizarrely: “Like I said, that’s not the reason I contested the election.”
Brown snapped: “So you wanted to throw out millions of votes without actually seeing any concrete evidence of fraud?”
Cawthorn then claimed he challenged the votes to “hold up the Constitution.”
“I think I would say the election was not fraudulent. The Constitution allowed for us to be able to push back as much as we could, and I did that to the … constitutional limits that I had at my disposal.
It’s called being a sore loser.
The constitution lets us attempt a coup is a weird reading of the document to me. But I suppose if they want to say he we were just following guidelines for when we lost an election they can do it.
Spineless liars the whole lot of them.
He thinks he would say that. What does that mean? It was bad enough when we elected dummies but now we are electing uneducated dummies.
He is the male version of that dumb blonde on Miss America a while back who answered “such as, and the iraq…and such as…”
Promoting incel Holocaust denying neo-Nazis to own the libs.

Oh, in case someone thinks the statement above is hyperbole, this is the guy with allegedly “high quality analysis”
Damn a guy with a Hitler mustache complaining about equal rights for women is struggling to find dates?
I know whose fault that is…
WOMEN!
A lot to unpack just in that bottom image. Dude rocking the hitler stash, and has a video series with 19 episodes blaming feminism for his inability to get a date. I wonder if anyone has told him that perhaps it isn’t feminism that is his issue.
So lets see.
Arizona GOP - implied followers should fight to the death to stop the steal.
Oregon GOP - The storming of the Capitol was a false flag operation and democrats are to blame.
Hawaii GOP - feminists (and liberals) are to blame for slimey, nerdy, hitler-indiana Jones wannabes not getting laid.
Do democratic party leaders at this level say or post such horrific shit? Honestly asking because i feel like there’s no way its this one-sided.
