This coming Friday will be my third injection of prescribed TRT at 100mg/week. The morning after I inject and the next couple mornings, I am so full of energy and I wake up with erections that would break a cinder block. Then by Thursday and Friday morning, I am back to my exhausted self.
Is this because its so new that my system isn’t yet saturated?
Possibly the dose is too small and not lasting?
Or is this why some guys inject 2x weekly?
I am not upset or anything yet. Just curious. I get blood work done 6wk after starting. I just really love how I feel during the initial few days.
Patience. You’re still very new to the medicine. I started at once every 2 weeks and remain at that protocol myself. The first few doses, it was very noticeable when I’d get to the end of the 2nd week, but after about 2 years at this rate, it honestly slips my mind when it’s time for my next dose, as my body just cruises along at a pretty even level these days.
What were your numbers like before you started treatment?
Splitting 100 mg doesn’t offer any advantage for function and well-being.
Every guy who has come to me and got a reference for my doctor, I have suggested they take their medication, live their lives, and not even think about TRT until their next quarterly visit to see IF something is still wrong.
You smooth out the peaks and valleys of your T levels. In this case I see no harm in your trying 50mg on Sun and 50mg on Weds. It ‘may’ be beneficial to you.
Be patient as @T3hPwnisher stated. You just started. You won’t get full results for months.
At 2 years in, I keep finding new things healing. You get yourself in such a pit that you forget what healthy felt like, and every time you think you’re there, something “new” comes along to remind you of how you used to feel.
What everyone else said. I’m 9.5 months into 100 mg/week (I do split it into 2 doses per my provider’s instructions, thats it).
It does take time to realize the benefits. We tend to hyperanalyze EVERYTHING once we start. Every "feeling " becomes a direct tie in to whether or not the TRT is "working ". Ask me how I know
Give it plenty of time, get labs done at recommended intervals, and keep doing your best to optimize your health outside TRT. If bodyfat is at or above 20%, aim for 15% to start. No cardio or lifting? Change that. Shitty diet? Change that. Etc, etc.
I started a month ago. 100 mg/week. I haven’t noticed much of a change. Morning erections for a couple of days after injecting, and I feel less depressed and anxious. That’s about it. Also, be careful where you inject. I hit a nerve in my thigh, and it’s been pretty screwed for the last three weeks. I have a painful, slightly numb spot about 4x6 inches. I’m hoping it gets better, but so far, there is no change.
My free T in 2020 was 67 and my total T was 412. So approx 5 years if you count those numbers as hypogonadal. No one would ever treat it due to my age, 34 at the time.
I’m really only running off one nut too. I had a torsion when I was younger. I still have the nut but it’s incredibly small compared to the other.
