TRT Newbie Questions and PSA Worries

Started TRT w/ family doc in March. Initial blood work showed Total T = 240, Free T=34, PSA =.90. In July, Total T = 652, Free T 134, PSA = 1.34. Doc said everything looked good but we need to watch PSA. Latest blood work this week, Total T = 954, Free T = 240, PSA = 1.52. I am taking 200 mg of t-cyp every other week. Will see the doc next week. I know dosage will be reduced. How worrisome is the rise in PSA? Did a little research and found that PSA increase with TRT is common but still a bit worrisome. Thanks for any input.

Every other week dosing is really not great. You are essentially spiking your levels and then crashing before you take your next injection. Also, when did you take your labs? How long after injecting?

Latest lab was 1 week after last injection, so right in the middle of the 2 week span.

I should add, I am 64 years old.

Lab ranges? Doses looks high. A proper TRT dose and protocol shouldn’t raise PSA. @ForrestChump is correct. If using Test Cyp you should inject 1x per week at the longest duration.

If i were you i would split my dosing up. Do 100mg once a week and see if the PSA comes down. You might just be spiking levels and causing the prostate to react.

I’d second this. I inject .4 ml test cyp twice a week and my last psa was .9.

200 mg every other week sounds less than ideal.

How old are you?

Are you taking any supplements for healthy prostrate support? Like saw palmetto and/or Biotest P-Well.

64 years old.
