What's Your PSA Level?

Curious to see what everyone’s PSA levels are like on TRT. State your age, pre TRT psa and free % levels and what changes you saw in the first year. Any abnormal spikes?

43 - pre trt psa 0.93 - 3 months into trt 0.77, free 45% - 1 year into trt up to 1.8. Retest pending as this result freaked me out. Googling prostate related topics can cause extreme anxiety.

53 years old PSA Pre TRT .54…4 years on trt…last test was .93. Has been as high as 1.0. Typically around .8.

60 pre trt 8 years ago 1.5. Current 2.3. I had a history of prostate infections in my 30’s and currently suffer from bph although it’s gotten better with the daily use of cialis.

I wonder if the lower ranges 0.00 to 2.00 psa levels are affected not just by age but testosterone levels, body size, prostate size etc. Like 0.5 is just as good as 0.7. Does it matter what that number is until it starts creeping up over 2.5?

42 years old. pre TRT 0.7, 3 months in 0.8, 5 months in 1.3 (different lab, was a mens health initiative at work), follow up with my urologist at month 6 showed PSA 0.7 with 55% free.

0.8 pre TRT
0.9 a couple of months in

PSA while on TRT 1.2-1.4.

I started TRT in June this year, my PSA was approx 0.4. It shot up to 1.7(!) within 3 months, I.e. as at the date of my first blood test in Sept. It then came back down to approx 0.6 three months later in my latest bloods from 2 weeks ago. So it definitely causes a spike but it seems transient.

I should add, I’m 36.

I’m curious if dosage changes create a spike each time. Especially if increasing the test dosage.

I have a feeling it might - when I started, my T levels were so low and I had it in my head that I’d need lots and lots of T to get to “high normal”. So I was doing around 200mg of Test E (split into 0.5ml E3D) and that surely caused the surge. Now I’m on around 70mg a week and honestly feel better by virtue of few/no side effects.

Many things can increase PSA temporarily, such as intercourse, heavy lifting (squats), extensive sitting, bicycling, etc. Best to get multiple readings and note behavior around the time your blood was drawn.
