Anyone have any experience with TRT and Lithium Carbonate as it relates to liver enzymes and kidney function? Not even sure what I should be concerned about to be honest.
I’ve been on Lithium for about two years now and notice a marked difference in energy levels and tremours with poor hydration daily. Drink 5 or 6L of water a day and I’m good. Otherwise no negative side effects and Lithium levels have been stable since I began.
Background; 45 yrs old, lifting for past 25 years plus, focused on combat sports.

Trt should in no way negatively affect the liver or kidneys of someone with otherwise healthy organs. If you have a metabolic disorder and you add drugs like lithium and then trt? I could see issues coming up. But if you’re healthy it shouldn’t be a problem. But it’s the sort of thing that you’d only pull the trigger on once you’ve had this discussion with your doctor and they’ve gone over the possible risks and interactions with you.
Thanks Iron_yuppie for the input.
My doctor is good and open to discussion regarding my concerns, but I feel I have to prompt him to consider things as well from time to time; as in 'Hey shouldn’t we do XYZ bloodwork soon".
I’ll see if I can hammer it home with him and get more definitive answers. I like a him and getting a replacement MD in my area is next to impossible, unfortunately.
