First Post, and in need of some experience and informed objective opinions as to whether or not at 27 i should continue TRT, see below. KSman any input would be valued.
Height: 6’ 1"
Weight: 192
Waist: 32
Body fat: 13%
Diet: 50% protein, 25% carbs, 25% fat
-I am on month 4 of TRT and debating whether or not to continue. I tested with low T and elevated E2 4 times within a period of 6 months (300 to 350ng/dl)(39-43pg/ml E2). The online clinic (that was highly recommended) I worked with never tested LH or FSH, which yes I now understand the criticality of looking at all the metrics before even considering. I started T replacement in Oct at 200mg a week and HCG 500 iu twice a week. I changed the dose to 50mg EOD and HCG dose to 200 iu EOD in week one after I started researching on my own.
T level 6 weeks in was 1092 and E2 went down as well to 22. Felt great compared to how I was.
What my concern is the actual drop in E2 from my initial bloodwork did not add up. Upon further research I realized that the only other medication I had taken around that period of time was an antidepressant which raises prolactin. Given that I was post surgery from a herniated disc and still recovering this medication could not have helped. Of course no doctor had that concern, but increased prolactin would be a cause for increasing estrogen and decreasing T levels substantially.
Blood work one week ago:
T:1391ng/dl
E2: 59pg/ml
LH: .1 mIU/ml
FSH: .2 mIU/ml
Recent blood work is obviously high, and know how I should adjust. I am no longer confident in a doctor to tell me how to handle this and I dont know if continuing on therapy would be best for me based on my concerns below. Regardless I am still on therapy and now have all the high E2 symptoms swelling low libido insomnia no/low morning erections, which I need to address, so I need input on what I should look at doing. There are obvious benefits from TRT that I have experienced when dosing is correct, but my chief concerns are:
1: creating the optimum environment for health, growth, and healing after suffering from a soft tissue injury.
2: Maintaining Fertility as I do want kids, and I don’t want to hurt my chances.
3: cost would be last but still a concern at 450 for 10 weeks not concidering the AI I may need if I cant control E2 (2340 a year), I feel like paying top dollar for compound pharmacy mixtures is worse than purchasing illegally.
I have no prior AAS use either.
Any input is appreciated but please only provide comprehensive advice. Thanks
