TRT and Changes in Cholesterol

Has anyone noticed changes in their cholesterol after their first year of TRT? LDL or HDL? I have also noticed greatly increased vascularity in my arms when my workout program has remained the same. My dose is 70-80mg every week . I have tried EOD and E3D at correspondingly reduced split dosages with no noticeable difference in effects. My estrogen and hematocrit are within range at the higher end. Your opinions please.

I was in healthy range pre-TRT, but both of mine have actually improved (LDL dropped and HDL increased).

My LDL went down on TRT.

Testosterone widens blood vessels, increasing blood flow because testosterone is a potent inhibitor of L-type Ca(2+) channels, similar to calcium channel blockers.

Both the estrogen and hematocrit are benefits of TRT. Current medical literature shows up to 52% hematocrit to be safe, provided you have no plaque or blockages in your arteries.

Thank you for the info.

Good to know thank you. My cholesterol seems to change significantly with each blood test for no apparent reason. My diet is usually fairly consistent.

My HDL is always very low on TRT - in some past cases it’s been single digits!
Doctor mentioned that low HDL is a side-effect of TRT.

Thankfully I am seeing a cardiologist who monitors. LDL and Triglycerides are always in the ā€œgood rangeā€ and total Cholesterol < 200.

Besides hematocrit, cholesterol is definitely something you want to monitor and stay on top of while on TRT.
