Anybody ever use these collars?

How do they stack up in terms of durability, security and workmanship (do the moving parts fit well or is there significant slop)?

They look nice but unless you workout at home do you really want to lug those to and from the gym in your bag everytime you workout?
I know theres a brand of collars that are similar to those but are plastic and weigh a fraction of what those might. You may say “well, they’re plastic so they aren’t as durable” but do collars do that much work that they need to be extraordinarily durable? Once they’re on, all they have to do is stay tight if you bail and tip the bar to one side or the other.
my gym uses those and they are really light. It feels secure and durable.
The high school I intern at has those collars in their weight room. I’ve gotten a chance to lift there and they definately work very well. But to agree with what chrismcl said, a collar is a collar really. As long as it stays on tight and doesnt slide it will be fine.
Thanks for the input guys!
