Trouble with PWI

The people who participate here are, IMO, the most intelligent posters on the site. I mean, look at the competition: the ‘Ass Worship Thread’? ‘Let’s Talk Butt Sex!’ One need only look about to see it clearly.

So here’s our trouble in PWI, stated very well by Morpheus:

“The Matrix is a system, Neo, and that system is our enemy. When you are inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters, the very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are part of that system and that makes them our enemies. You have to understand most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many are so…hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it.”

Let’s put our brains to work on a solution.

Live and let live. Some people like politics, some like anal. Some posters here like both.

Nothin’ you’re gonna’ do to change any of that.

Freedom is understood. But I would contend that if people spent less time worrying about some of the other stuff, they might improve life for all of us. Doesn’t it piss you off when people spend 3 years and 11.9 months on nonsense and then pop up to vote on YOUR (and all of ours) future?

How many Obama voters never voted before, didn’t care about issues at all, yet voted because he is black?

The irony of this is pitiful.

How dare you talk bad about AWT. What all of a sudden it’s wrong to be a man who is horny over a nice butt? I think TC might disagree with you on that one. Plus who wants to come on here and argue all the time. I generally try to spend my time on the net in a de-stressfull manner, I have enough headaches at work.

Didn’t the Greeks spend a few hours every day in active parliament?

IMO, I think the old adage says it best, “If you can’t beat em, join em.” Gimme 30 years and I’ll be in office.

So more people have NOT become dependent on government for their sustenance? So many people are becoming vested in the system that we are losing our individuality. You either follow the pre-set rules or wind up on the scrap heap. Old people, poor people, the uneducated, are wards of the state. Is THAT what you want?

how many people don’t care about the issues but voted for mccain because he isn’t black.

Stupid voting (voting democrat?) is stupid voting, but pinning everything on obama is kind of stupid.

I really thought that sentence was going to end different than it did.

This could just be me reading something into your post that isn’t there, but… did you just use a line from a Hollywood film as a pep-talk against socialism?

I can’t tell if that’s cunning or brilliant.

I’d choose the latter. If its good enough for Spielberg, its good enough for me. (see next paragraph)

There are several films that are highly critical of the mindset I’m talking about. The film ‘Jurassic Park’ is an incredible criticism (withering in fact) of planned societies: We can’t even control a little island of dumb animals, yet we propose to plan societies for humans.

Look at last year’s stimulus package: They put out billions and it probably made things worse. Nancy Pelosi has an argument with her husband and the current legislation turns into a ‘rotting corpse’.

Life is a chaotic system. Attempting to plan it for human societies simply results in totalitarianism.

Not really- they have a vote, I have a vote, you have a vote. This is a good thing.

What pisses me off is pseudo-intellectual douchebags that post their idiotic opinions disguised as fact.

Do you think someone who has a no education, no job, and lists his home address as a park bench should have equal input in the political process? Because someone gave him a pack of smokes to go vote?

Men grow cold, as girls grow old and we all lose our charms in the end…

Just give them a few years…
