Not really- they have a vote, I have a vote, you have a vote. This is a good thing.

What pisses me off is pseudo-intellectual douchebags that post their idiotic opinions disguised as fact.

Do you think someone who has a no education, no job, and lists his home address as a park bench should have equal input in the political process? Because someone gave him a pack of smokes to go vote?

I would like to amend my objection to this forum:

Yes

Why?

I second this. You work hard all your life, save your money, and then you’d happily let some hobo who lives on a park bench vote your money away from you? Oh, its to help
the poor and needy I suppose.

If you think that giving away your money to people like that is good, give them your money on your own. Why create a big government to force everyone to do what YOU think is right?

Cereally?

Because you responded to two questions.

Pseudo intellectual elitist me was able to determine that by looking at the signs at the end of those sentences.

FYI, “?” marks a question.

I don’t believe in disenfranchising anyone bases on their socioeconomic status.

Of course not. In SAMA, asses get worshiped.

That’s a funny coincidence, because it’s generally the anti-intellectual POPULIST douchebags posting their idiotic opinions disguised as fact that tend to piss me off.

Why? Do you believe it is better for society? Or would denying them a vote be unethical?

I’ll assume the second one for now

Are you assuming that voters of a higher socioeconomic status cast their votes based on whether or not society will benefit?

I think people are selfish and will vote for whatever will benefit their individual needs.

You’re confusing me with Push, my dear.

EDIT: oh, wait… now I know what you’re talking about. So you did read that. Good.

And anyway, it’s “insufferably intellectual and reasonable centrist pablum [sic].”

And that was written entirely tongue-in-cheek, you must understand.

Yes, I know.

I don’t hold grudges.

That’s a lie, I am a champion grudge holder. But as I don’t know where you live, you have nothing to worry about.

I’ll PM you my address.

Well HH I can only speak for myself here. Having been a member almost as long as you have I spent alot of time lurking over the years. I come on here now for training advice, to keep my log and for fun.

I used to watch the PWI boards alot… but it was always the same arguement. Poster A states “I hate all republicans” and then refers to some article. Poster B steps in “I hate all democrats” and then the flame war begins. Especially over the past year.

Since English is not my first language, I looked that up-

disenfranchise
One entry found.

Main Entry:
dis·en·fran·chise Listen to the pronunciation of disenfranchise
Pronunciation:
ˌdis-in-ˈfran-ˌchīz\
Function:
transitive verb
Date:
1664

: to deprive of a franchise, of a legal right, or of some privilege or immunity ; especially : to deprive of the right to vote
? dis·en·fran·chise·ment Listen to the pronunciation of disenfranchisement -ˌchīz-mənt, -chəz-\ noun

So now I know that you gave now explanation whatsoever, you just reaffirmed your answer.

So you believe that everyone should have a right to vote.

Why?

There are a lot of people who are no allowed to vote and for good reasons.

Not having any stake in the outcome expect to participate in legal plunder might be a legitimate reason.

This is not true. I said that I don’t believe that someone should be denied that right based upon their wealth.

I also don’t believed that someone should be denied the right based upon gender or race.[quote]

Everyone has a stake in the legal plunder, so by your reasoning no one should be allowed to vote.

That is textbook Bastiat and I agree.

Either nobody gets to vote or we make legal plunder illegal.

That however leads us back to Bastiat conclusion, there is very little left to vote on if legal plunder is no longer an option.
