I agree with baseball not as physically demanding than other ball games, but if you think about it, it’s probably harder to be good at than every other sport out there.
It sure is alot easier to shoot a damn free throw than to hit a 95mph fastball or a sweeping curveball. And I think we can all agree that soccer is even more boring and alot easier to kick a ball and DIVE everytime you get grazed in the back than throw 100 pitches a game.
Shooting free throws isnt a large component of the scorboard. What, maybe approx 15 or 20 free throws a side per game? Say its 20, and they MAKE them all, thats 20 points of a 100point game. Its the shooting anywhere else on the court that takes the skill, or just the ball control. I would agree that hitting a baseball takes some degree of skill, but even then, its a game of chance. Lol In poker, you dont know the next card, yet you have to know how to play what you have. Thats baseball. If the pitcher is pitching at 90mph, then you arent going to be seeing the ball coming at you in slow motion. Its going to be there in a blink of an eye. Yea, if there were guys with a batting average of 7 or more, id say Sure you are a great hitter. But when im seeing Averages moreso centered around 2, it leads me to believe people are swinging and crossing their fingers lol. And like i said, the only person ill give credit to is the pitcher. But a team sport cant be centered around 1 person. The pitcher isnt just the backbone of baseball, hes 9 out of the 11 systems of the Body that is baseball.
AndI mentioned soccer due to the necessity of endurance, its the exact opposite of baseball. And ill agree that soccer is boring to watch, for me atleast. Some love it, hell some love baseball. TO each their own.
I agree with baseball not being as physically taxing as many sports, except for the pitcher and catcher, however, you’ve got to be kidding me about hitting a big league pitcher not being impressive. Its apparent you’ve never played anything higher then squirt. After hitting a golf ball straight, hitting a baseball travelling faster then 65 mph in play is the hardest thing to do in sports.
When shooting, a bballer has control of everything (minus other players), the net does not move. A baseball hitter has miliseconds to determine weather or not a ball is going to be in the strike zone and keep his eye on it long enough to get his arms to respond accordingly. Yes, hitters will often start their swing when a pitcher is half way through his follow through, but its still a controlled motion (hence the check swing). And this is coming from someone who will not watch a to save my life. Its boring as hell. The highlights are all I need.
