Trevor Smith's Beyond Failure Training
LUEshi wrote:
His strength levels were (RIP) mind-boggling. I don’t know much about actual statistics here, but wouldnt he have been among the strongest lifters in the world? I mean rep wise. 700lb incline pre-fatigued is damn superhuman. And he would do what, 6-8 reps with it on his own before the spotters.

I remember reading the thread over at muscle mayhem and him saying that 7 plates on the incline was his 1RM, then he would do a drop set.

A 675 lb incline bench press (Smith machine or no) would definitely put him in the top 10 strength-wise. Just goes to show you do pretty much any type of training long enough and you’re gonna get pretty goddamn strong.

Also, I love this pic. The stack…plus two plates…plus two dumbbells.
that is fucking rediculous, i love this guy.

this is actually considered by DC guys to be a prerequisite to DC lol.

could just be DC guys trying to make their program sound more hardcore though because honestly this program is no joke

How so? Where did you read this? Posters on intensemuscle.com have respect for the program and admit it is more intense than DC.

Hmm. I think Bauer and Waylander could actually pull Trevor’s training off.
Not me though

Yeah, it burnt me out pretty quickly as well. I was able to use it for a couple of months before burning out (was trying to increase weight every single workout).

What I will say is that it is mind blowingly intense, especially if you use the ZMR’s. Trevor was not at all kidding when he said to be careful after you finished the leg extensions, as you will most likely not be able to stand. I’ve honestly gotta say that those are probably the most painful exercise in the program.

The pump is also incredible. You’ll look like a completely different person in the mirror when you’re done. Can’t really say about the long term effects though, as I said it was too much for my recovery abilities to sustain for any length of time.

I haven’t read through the thread (or at least not in recent history), have you tried Trevors stuff, Lueshi?

I’m actually going to try this for legs today. I don’t have a spotter but I’ll take it as far as I can.

Thanks for bumping Lueshi

No prob, bro. Let us know how it works out.

No, not yet. I only joined a gym yesterday and the equipment is far too limited to try something like this. That’s alright, as it gives me time to get my base strength up as much as possible before jumping into this or DC.

LOL
It’ll be a long time before I go near any of these systems, but this program sounds scarier than DC.

You are one funny man.

Hmm. Ho are you going to do the forced reps without a spotter? Those are a major part of the program…

heard it from people in the “Think About Trying DC Thread” think it was Stronghold tbh.

If he does a drop set and maybe some ZMR’s after he’ll more or less get the benefit. Although forced reps are absolutely necessary, imo…

I’m so looking forward to trying this. I just really want to get my strength in the big three up as much as possible beforehand so that it’ll actually be worth it…

Push your blood pressure through the roof like this daily and you too can die of a brain aneursym at 33.

Yah…It didn’t happen lol. I left my intensity at home today apparently.

When you put up your pictures for the first time, you were told in no uncertain terms that you needed to drop 50 pounds of fat before even considering a mass gaining phase. We have seen no evidence of you following that advice yet, seeing as you specified your goals for the previous year as “try not to get fatter while gaining strength on various lifts”.

Assuming your body fat hasn’t significantly dropped compared to the original set of pictures, you now insinuate that you want to go on an all out mass gaining phase (which is what you will need to milk ANYTHING out of BFT without seriously injuring yourself) WITH a (I’m guessing) high bf hoping that you will gain enough size to offset the blubber.

Someone stated in your t-cell introduction that you were “delusional” and I scoffed at the idea, but it doesn;t seem as ridiculous reading about your current plans.

Good luck to you and I will not post on this thread again.

Lol, I’m fairly certain that it was a joke. You quite certainly don’t have to do BFT before DC…
Shit, I get zero out of BFT, I’m just not a volume/5 drop sets + 6 forced reps each kind of guy.

Whoa whoa whoa there bubba. You’re reading WAYYYY too much into things, 'kay?

I’m not going to start BFT or DC: not until after I drop every last ounce I need to. I was saying that I was looking forward to doing this program IN THE FUTURE. Not now. I’m not an idiot, no matter how much some of the peeps who read my topic in the initial stages would like to believe otherwise.

As for bodyfat, I dunno. I went down from a 40 to a 36 waist and I’m working on dropping to a 34. I still have a ways to go. Hence no pics. If you really want some PM me, as there is a lot of hairy man ass involved and I doubt anyone in Alpha wants to see that on the front page.

That’s what I was trying to do up until around December, yes. I lost about 20-30 pounds out of it, gained some strength but no, fat loss was not impressive. Am I on a fat loss diet now? Yes.

I have a shitload of problems, none of which I will bore you with as they all fall under the heading of “Excuse”, however real they may be. Suffice it to say paying bills and getting any sort of healthy diet going has been frustrating if not close to impossible over the past year.

You’ve been a real positive influence to me and I’d hate to see you write me off over a misunderstanding.

I’ll say again: not doing BFT anytime soon. Not strong enough, not lean enough and don’t have enough money to bulk anyway. Not doing anything but trying to lose weight and get stronger, both of which I’ve had a measure of success at. 9 months worth of success? No, but I don’t have the luxury of total focus in my current circumstances.

BFT is a shit way of training for anyone not on 2 grams of gear per week. Good luck with drop sets and EIGHT forced reps per dropped set.

My bad, I misunderstood.
