X, since we don’t understand the sagging pants mentality, can you kindly explain it? I’m being completely serious. When I had lost a bunch of weight in college due to lower quality in food, I often had a big sagging pants issue and would find it funny to walk around with my pants incredibly low. Its very difficult to walk like that, restricting - rather than freeing - and uncomfortable.
I also would ask that since the bulk of the White community does not understand these fashion trends - regardless of where they came from - is any effort being made by the Black community to help “us” understand? From what I’ve seen folks just go on doing their thing and intentionally withdraw into their own groups - the ones that sag their pants anyways. They speak a dialect that is hard to understand (ebonics) - also exclusive and shunning - and have no issues calling White people crackers -which I just found out meant whip cracker, not like white, saltine cracker. Learn something new every day.
I still recall going into the 'burg for some play in Junior High and being one of the few schools with majority white students. I don’t remember how many times I heard our group called “stupid, crazy crackers” by those around us. Can we admit at least that Black people are just as (if not moreso) racist than White people? Again, speaking in generalities since I truly hope that there are as many Black people who like and are accepting of White people as there is vice versa - percentage wise seeing as the Black community is a minority.

Given that, we know without a doubt that the number of crimes reported or prosecuted represent only a PERCENTAGE of all crimes ever committed.

Blacks are profiled for crimes more which will increase those arrested and prosecuted in itself alone.

Do you really believe that? Do you realize that since blacks make up a small percentage of the overall population that they should make up a small percentage of the crime statistics as well? And do you realize that for blacks to make up even HALF of the crime statistics, which would still represent a serious skew in the wrong direction for them, there would have to be something like 9 times as many whites actually committing crimes than blacks. For the statistics to be representative of the population demographics there would have to be several times more crimes than that being committed by whites than blacks.
So, are you basing your argument on the assumption that there is this significant of a difference in crimes committed versus crimes reported and accounted for in statistical measurements?

We’ll see how the media plays this one. What’s Obama’s response? Especially with his recent, “we need to uplift the young Black males of America.” It also shows a prime example of the statistics people have been posting.
I’m excitedly waiting for “she shouldn’t have been there,” or “well stuff happens,” or “obviously shooting the child - one of the youngest recorded murders ever - was by accident and not intentional.”

This was on O’Riley last night. Say whatever you want about him and Foxnews but the statistic of 73% of new black children born out of wedlock and what he says about where the blame lies on how to correct it is very spot on. Maybe the best comentary I have heard on this topic in a while.

Those statistics are shocking to anyone who really doesn’t realize just how things break down. You read that write up and even the wonderful piece (IMO) that Cosby authored a few years back (and I believe was met with a huge backlash), and you see the difference between people who focus on what they can do in the present for the future, and those who prefer to always scapegoat others, or as seems to be common, the past.
I’m certainly no expert on race relations (if that is indeed the proper term for what is being discussed), but I can say from my experience
working in the NYC education system, that it isn’t uncommon to see populations appearing full on resistant to doing anything that could improve their situations, instead opting to complain, and blame. (Damn, I’m sure that statement will blow back on me, but it’s simply based on my own experiences, which no one can dispute… unless of course I must be racist! -lol)
