The two options I’ve found are 1. the mini-fridge; and 2. frio wallets. My concern about the second is that they won’t keep the HCG cold enough. My concern about the first is the pain in the ass factor.
And more generally, what do you guys do when you travel by air? Do you pack it in your carry-on?
How about by car?
And for that matter, what do you do when staying at people’s houses? Requisition their fridge? LOL.
I take it every other day like in KSman’s sticky, TRT injection protocols.
If you do the same, then you have 24 hours to get back home before you need it again. You could take it a few hours early or later if needed. If you needed to be gone longer, Im not sure how bad it might be to miss a dose on a rare occasion when you are out of town. IF you had a blood test coming up in a week or two then I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t be good.
I think I would rather miss a dose than deal with trying to travel with it. I would hate to take the bottle and risk it getting warm and losing it. I would also not want to pre draw it up and have the medication sitting in that syringe absorbing chemicals from the plastic. It’s just to much to worry about and deal with.
Just my opinion, trying to be practical and cut down on stress. Maybe someone else has a more factual answer on how it would affect us.
Well, I use it daily (small doses though) - I suppose if I had to I could double up if it’s just for a day. However, I travel a lot for a week or a half a week at a time…up to to a few months.
I often fly.
And, I also escape to the wilderness a few times a year.
I use transdermals - so that’s helpful. The only problem for travel is going to be HCG & GHRP-6.
I agree that keeping it simple is good. If anyone has a “system” they’d like to share with me on how to deal with all this (LOL!), I’m all ears & eyes. I’m extremely thrilled to be on HRT; and to have such a great doc; but, yeah, this part’s going to be a wee pain in the arse.
You can inject EOD. hCG has a long half life. The key research showing 250iu SC was effective was EOD.
I use gel packs and preloaded syringes so the who vial is not subjected to thermal problems.
Never pack in checked luggage. Luggage gets lost and things do get stolen.
You can use gel packs with carry on. You must separate your kit from everything else and declare to the TSA person that you have prescription meds with a cold gel pack. They will yawn; there are so many diabetics and they use the gel cooled kits.
You need your meds inside of or accompanied by the the box with the prescription label… a current one. If they ask why you do not have the vial, tell them that you are not willing to have the total contents at risk from travel. If TSA wants to hand inspect your kit, you have the right to unpack and display yourself. You have a right to not have your kit contaminated by someone handling the belonging of thousands of people and bags that are dragged on the floor in washrooms.
I mix hCG to 2000iu/ml and load .5ml insulin syringes. I inject 0.125ml at a time until the syringe is empty. Cleaning the needle with a swab after injecting. If you swab before injecting it will sting.
You can also steam an empty hCG vial and transfer only what you need for the trip into that so only that amount is at risk… and the vial cab come home empty.
For car trips I have a thermo cooler for food and drinks with an AC adapter to use at destinations and hotels along the way.

Thanks KSman.
I wonder if the bolded part is applicable to international flying?
I would expect that any country that you depart from would not take gel packs away unless they were doing that to diabetics as well - hard to imagine.
You might not have the right to display your kit in other countries and perhaps you would not be able to state your preference in a language that they understand.
Hi KSMan…your knowlege is truly impressive in this area. My thanks to you.
I do have a question regarding HCG. I am about to talk with my doc about getting a script for HCG. If he goes along with it then great. I hope that the local pharmacies stock it. Otherwise is there a good source to get this without script? How do they keep it cool in transit?
