Getting HCG Covered by Insurance

This may or maynot be of interest to some members here:

I know this came up in a thread a while back, where i mentioned that i was going to get my HCG covered by insurance (Bluecross) after my initial stock ran up.

Well I got it covered for a co-pay (15$)

Heres how i went about it-

I started with calling blue cross, and they were of almost no help. They couldnt tell me one way or another if it would be covered. Basically said to call one of the 3 fertility pharmacies they have a deal with. One is Village Fertility in Waltham ma. I called them (i also got clomid through them a few months back for a co-pay as well), and they said they wouldn’t know for sure until they ran it through, but the woman i talked to was 90percent sure it would be covered.

So thats what i did when i last saw my doctor. I had him send the script over to them. Ive been taking 500iu x 3 a week and He wrote it up as 1500 x 3 a week. So they sent me TWO 10,000 vials for 15 bucks! I called the pharamacy cause i was confused by what i had, and they said my doctor probably wrote it up that way so i would save money, the co-pay covers one or two vials.

So i have enough for two months for a co-pay(15 dollars). They charge for supplies (syringes, needles, sharps container), which is 15 as well. So all together 30 bucks.

Im just putting this out there so everyone can give it a shot as well. My insurance isnt the greatest either, so i have to guess alot of you guys can get it covered too.

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they are requiring a pre-authorization from my doctor before covering the hcg…it is really a huge pain in the ass

Tri-Care is the same way. Liuckily for me, I have a doc and a compounding pharmacy that were willing to go the extra mile.

Shit Cigna doesn’t even cover my T cyp. What a joke.

I also have Blue Cross. I called my insurance previously and was told I needed a letter of medical necessity for my testosterone enanthate to be covered (they have a weird rule that says they will only cover it if I get the injection at a doctor’s office, which, after a co-pay, would negate any savings very quickly). Inspired by this thread, I called about my HCG prescription.

Now the insurance company says that they will probably cover both medications as long as I order from their specialty mail-order pharmacy, subject to approval from my doctor. The difference was I previously spoke with the division of BC that handles pharmaceutical coverage (which is outsourced to another company), and this time I spoke with medical coverage (which is handled in-house). Maybe this is a price discrimination scheme where the persistent policy-holders save more than the folks who prefer the path of least resistance.

Anyway, I hope this information was useful. Thank you to the OP.

Hey evitagen, I just read your thead and have a couple questions. hoping you could help me. I would like to start taking HCG. I have not contacted my doctor yet, however, I would like to set up an appointment to see if he would prescribe it. Can you suggest how I bring this up? I am interested in HCG for its muscle building benefits and increase in libido. Would I need a testosterone test completed first to see if I qualify? Or can I bypass all this and call my insurance company (I have Blue Cross also).
Any help would be great. Thanks
Chris

I just ordered from an overseas pharmacy. 10k IU was like $125 after insurance to fill at my local pharmacy. Also got supplies from amazon on the cheap. Figure it’s going to cost $22 per month for 250IU 3x weekly.

Monthly breakdown

18.84 - HCG - not the cheapest but they take credit card.
00.97 - BAC Water
01.56 - 1/2cc syringes
00.04 - Mixing vial
00.12 - 1ml mixing syringe
00.24 - Alcohol wipes

I don’t trust overseas pharmacies so don’t think I’d feel comfortable doing that. What supplies did you order from amazon?
Chris

When you get hCG non-Rx, you need to test it. Get a home pregnancy test kit and your urine should produce a positive test result. I know someone where the result was negative, who then applied the product straight from the vial and that was also negative.

If you are not on TRT or cycle steroids, I don’t think it would be worth it to get an HCG prescription.

Your insurance company pays for drugs; your doctor prescribes them.

How effective is a hCG non-Rx versus a prescription type? Any safe ones you recommend?

If you are talking about over the counter HCG it is useless.

Non Rx hCG is something that you get shipped in from overseas. hCG is criminalized in some states in the USA with the same penalties as gear.

Yes, there is crap on the WWW: pills, sprays etc, total rubbish. hCG can only be delivered by injection.

But I assume finding a safe legitimate hCG brand overseas is difficult? (if even possible without a docs presc)

yes, the one well known major respected source dropped hCG. This is all second hand info for me, I use Rx.

Ah that’s too bad! Thanks for the info

Hcg is big business right now. It’s not hard to find reputable brands or pharmacies. There are plenty of reputable drug companies that don’t pay the hefty price to play here. It’s a big world out there. The us is a sizable market but we are not the only market. I’m sure the fda is keeping lots of good stuff from being readily available to us.

I get everything but the prescription drugs on amazon.

I agree, there must be endless amounts of legitimate drugs outside our borders, though, obtaining these and trusting their quality isn’t easy unless you feel like being a guinea pig. PM me if you know of any reputable companies. Thanks
