Traps/Upper Back Pain

Ah I already saw this one somewhere. Think they called it the Frankenstein squat or something. Looks terribly hard btw.

I watched a video of CT coaching the version with straps too.

Another one that caught my interest, although I never actually tried it, is the zercher squat. Looks like it works a ton of core and back, along with delts and somehow even the biceps. Have you ever tried it?

Yes I’ve done zercher squats, but they’re different enough I wouldn’t call them ā€œfront squatsā€ anymore. For me they put less stress on the stomach and more stress on the upper back than fronties.

You have to get comfortable with the little bit of pain in the inner elbows where the bar rests. I thought that pain limited the weight you can use, but there are videos of strongmen doing them with 600+ lbs.

You should try them and I should add them back in haha.
