I’ve gotten these dreams from time to time … they’re frustrating to me, I always feel like in tense anger towards what/whoever I’m attempting to punch and it’s just ineffective which makes me angrier and embarrassed that I can’t do anything to this schmuck
Shadow entities/Dark energy enteties feeding off you. Your anger won’t go away because you can’t hit them. You just keep trying and getting angrier with every failed attempt. They are good at what they do, next time try giving them a hug, seriously. They will go away and something more pleasant may come and hug you.

Makes sense … these dreams are infrequent … the most frequent dream theme I have is zombie outbreaks where I’m always saving someone and fending off the hordes and leading the rag tag army of survivors
Haha, Well it’s obvious someone thinks you are a natural born leader.

V
Know who else thought he was a natural born leader, polo?

Adolph Hitler.

thanks for the analysis Vegita, that probably makes sense. As to your flying dream, I’ve never once had a dream where I flew. But I’ve had dreams where I could beat the shit out of hoardes of people and whenever there’s a monster I usually dismember it in a really violent and gory manner. I’ve never felt safe or secure during those dreams though.
Sounds like we have an enforcer or warrior spirit here. I’m confused that you live in Canada though. hmmm, well you should obviously follow polo around. He will have the good ideas, you will have the nerve to make sure he stays alive to see them through. I’ll figure out places for everyone eventually if you all feed me enough dream info.

What do I do you ask? It’s obvious isn’t it? I tell you all what you do. lol I’m like the old wise man or the buddist monk guy or something. I see the big picture.

Actually he was one of the greatest LEADERS of all time, maybe THE best. He also had a sick and twisted view of the world. Didn’t make him a bad leader, just a bad person with amazing leadership skills.

Besides, what are you trying to make a statement for Zombies rights or something? Sheesh, I’m sure you will be first in line to let them half eat you and then turn you once the zombie apocolypse begins. Meanwhile polo will be leading the rest of us to safety and freedom from the zombie hoards.

V

ok Vegita

I have dreams where I’m eating live animals. I only eat the dangerous ones too, mostly bears.

EXORCISM!

Serially though, anyone else get that tripping over/falling down sensation just before falling asleep? I’ve been getting that more frequently, to the point that nearly every night I will suddenly spasm and then completely relax and be fine for the rest of the night.

Generally I’ve had less nightmares since I’ve become generally happier day to day. I achieved this through conciously caring a whole lot less about everything, thinking a bit less (read: worrying a lot less) and smoking a bunch more weed. General happiness and nightmare free sleep - thank you Mary Jane!

or maybe I just don’t remember having them anymore…

Mostly I was just going for the laugh.

So last night I have this dream were this little girl whom I can only describe as the possessed girl from the exorcist is inches away from the left side of my face when she says in her nasty ass voice, “Do you like me this close to your face.” My response was to stick my tongue out at her and wiggle it, I immediately wake up lying in the exact poisiton I was in during the dream.

What the fuck is that about??

I know I laughed

I take the ZMA nightly but I think I don’t normally sleep long enough to have dreams. With my work schedule and then kids getting up for school early, I literally get three hours of continuous sleep a night. There is a 2 hour nap during the day when the baby takes his afternoon nap and that’s all I get until the weekend. I cant really remember having any dreams for a long time but they used to be bizarre when I did.

I have been watching War stories on the History channel the past couple of nights before going to bed. Bad idea! Being in the middle of a war within a dream is not fun. Bombs exploding, running from gun fire, approaching the enemy without ammo. Last night I was riding in a jeep with someone I’ve never met while listening to a Metallica song that doesn’t even exist. James Hetfield’s voice, but my song. Upon awakening, I can get a much better idea and true appreciation of those who are actually in the middle of a war and the fear they are going through. War dreams suk! I think tonight I will put on an episode of ghost whisper before crashing and see where that takes me…Oh ya!

Just to broaden the discussion a bit. My all taime favorite dream, and I have had it 3 times that I can remember, is one where I fly without any machine or apparatus. It’s always the same to, I am running, usually down a long slope. I jump and when I land, I jump again, only this time a little higher and farther. Then I land and jump again, this time going higher and farther, gliding more too, the descent isn’t like a fall, more like in mario where you glide down to the earth when you have the tinooki tail or whatever that think is. Anyways, Eventually I could re-jump without hitting the ground and the feeling was amazing. I was just jumping in the air and floating around, I could also get going pretty fast and slow down if I wanted to.

Anyone else have some flying dreams?

V
Yes! I have totally had flying dreams which are incredible. I have also ridden giant tidal waves, which is also quite cool but very unnerving. And as someone else had stated, I dream a lot with ghosts or dead people - one of which basically tormented me for weeks and lived in the attic of my childhood house. This latter character I just chalked up to general family dysfunction and anxiety.

I won’t lie though, I totally believe in ghosts and astral travel.

Vegita, perhaps we’ve met before…(duh duh duhhhhh)

I was studying in the 24/hour space at the university here. Put my books down and laid down on one of the couches. Fell asleep and then when I opened my eyes, I could see what was going on (and year), but was totally paralyzed. Lasted for about 20 seconds.
Edward wrote:

But man I wish i could learn your talent for waking up in the middle of them.

If you’re dreaming and you slam your eyes shut, they usually open. At least mine do. That’s how I escape the unpleasant dreams.
Vicomte wrote:
About once a week (more often when I take ZMA) I have dreams that could be described as ‘unpleasant’. Naturally, when I have a bad dream, I like to get out of it as soon as possible. If at some point I am lucky enough to become aware that I am dreaming, I then make an effort to wake up, but cannot move.

I’m assuming this has something to do with the paralysis that occurs during REM sleep. As such, I am left struggling to move in order to wake myself up. I’ve made fairly epic efforts for what seems like hours before I finally wake up. I imagine this is what it must feel like to be bound and tortured.

This particular morning I was held down by a rather attractive girl, who then proceeded to attempt removing my soul via my mouth. Bitch didn’t get it.

Am I the only one fighting the good fight?
hmm are you conscious but your body is paralyzed, and an “evil presence” is often in the room with you but you can’t wake up? Thats sleep paralysis, associated mostly with great stress and PTSD.

sleep paralysis is the worst

lol what the fuck is it with zombie dreams? That’s my most reocurring dream scenario. The most badass one I had was when I basically annihilated an entire army of zombies with my bare hands and a scythe. Not only that but I had complete freedom of movement and super strength/speed. I was jumping on top of buildings, flipping cars over, ripping them apart, and busting through walls like the kool-aid man. Im guessing that dream is as close as I’ll come to knowing what it’s like to be a super hero.

It used to happen to me every day a few years ago, now more rarely. Just two or three weeks ago I had an incident, and it was awful. I was having a dream where I was outside having some kind of an argument with someone, then all of I sudden I realize I am dreaming, but I fall over onto the ground, and start getting slowly sucked down into the sand completely unable to escape, or even move, and I was screaming for help but none came. When I finally woke up, I nearly launched myself out of my bed from trying so hard to get out. I find the old hag and abduction stories to be very interesting, as I’ve never really had that experience, at least not that I can remember. Usually I only get the paralysis, accompanied by a feeling of fear or doom, lost sense of time (though it always seems like forever) and maybe some auditory hallucinations. That might have been the first time I’ve had it combined with anything visual. Later that day I listened to Nine Inch Nails and the song “Downward Spiral” came on. When the screaming kicked in it totally brought back the emotions I felt when I was sinking in the sand, and I was creeped the fuck out. That song sounds like dying, and I only truly realized it after that dream.

I’ve never had a flying dream that I can remember and I’m kinda jealous of those who have. The most I get is a crouching tiger, hidden dragon type movement where I can run on walls and leap onto rooftops, glide up and down stairs, and move extraordinarily fast. I actually have been trying to induce lucid dreams so I can try flying, but no success yet. Any tips?
