These drive me crazy. That feeling of absolute helplessness when you can’t throw a punch or you can’t run, only slowly trudge as if stuck in molasses frustrates the hell out of me.
I’ve had dreams where I know there’s an intruder in my house, but my pistol won’t fire… all I get is ‘click’ when I pull the trigger… Over and Over and Over again.
The paralysis/ineffective fighting ones are the worst for me, at least from what I’ve experienced so far. I can’t put into words the terror/frustration that comes from those ‘situations’ in my dreams. I know I’m dreaming, but I still can’t move and the inner turmoil feels like it takes years off my life when I wake up.
I go to sleep exhausted and wake up even more exhausted from fighting my dreams.

Time is not linear or maybe even existant in the astral plane. Everything just kind of exists and experiences. Time really means nothing to entities in the astral plane (including you!)
So I’m at work, and all of a sudden Bill Gates walks in and starts telling me that If i really want to progress my life I need to start taking out loans. I get sort of dragged along with it because for some reason I feel like I know that I have to. The problem is that with every chunk of money that I’m borrowing, I can feel my dick getting smaller and smaller. I’m like Bill Gates my dick is shrinking this is bad. He tells me not to worry about it, and to take as much out as possible and just let my dick get down to a bare minimum for function size.

I think it’s cool how you can have an elaborate plot line that continues periodically in dreams spanning years. You don’t even remember the dream for the first few times but eventually you start to. It’s like slowly becoming aware that you’ve been living a parallel life in your dreams.

Or when you have multiple recurring dream themes. I have become aware of 5 so far for myself. One of which I’m pretty sure involved a life I had (or am having) in the city of atlantis. Weather it was a part of earths past ( I doubt) or it is a civilisation on another planet in our galaxy or universe, I believe it exists or existed and Part of my experiences have been there. Obviously other peoples have too or we wouldn’t have books and stories about it with such similarities. The use of vibrating crystals, the social structure, the style of dress, etc…
I used to just have tidal wave dreams. Almost all of them involve me being in a building and just seeing this huge wall of water coming towards me. Only after a certain point in my life (an event) did I start having deeper dreams where points came up which were similar but before the massive tidal wave came and I knew they were linked. The other dreams revealed aspects of what I can only call atlantean like culture. Crystals were worn and used almost everywhere, they were a central theme.

I’ve gotten these dreams from time to time … they’re frustrating to me, I always feel like in tense anger towards what/whoever I’m attempting to punch and it’s just ineffective which makes me angrier and embarrassed that I can’t do anything to this schmuck
i haven’t been laid in a little over a year, or been in a relationship. I’ve been working so much and trying to get my career that I’ve been afraid a relationship would interfere with it.

I get the “can’t punch for shit” ones, very frustrating to say the least. It’s the continuous loop thats the worst part, like someone else mentioned.
Like V was saying, your state of mind when you go to bed affects your type of dreams. If you’ve had a bad day and felt things were out of your control, tell yourself over and over again something like “I’m in complete control of my life” or something like that, like a mantra. When I remember to do that, my dreams are not so out of control. It takes practice.

Well in this specific case I think it’s exactly what it sounds like. You have internal stress because I’m sure you want a female companion who is hot, makes a good buck, likes to screw, makes you a sandwich etc… but you don’t think you can devote time to her and your job at the moment. So, part of you thinks you need to continue to sacrifice the human physical side (your penis in your dream) to grow your financial/societal side (ego). I don’t think there is a right or wrong choice, but obviously there is internal struggle. Your brain just happens to decode these feelings as bill gates and a shrinking penis.

Just to broaden the discussion a bit. My all taime favorite dream, and I have had it 3 times that I can remember, is one where I fly without any machine or apparatus. It’s always the same to, I am running, usually down a long slope. I jump and when I land, I jump again, only this time a little higher and farther. Then I land and jump again, this time going higher and farther, gliding more too, the descent isn’t like a fall, more like in mario where you glide down to the earth when you have the tinooki tail or whatever that think is. Anyways, Eventually I could re-jump without hitting the ground and the feeling was amazing. I was just jumping in the air and floating around, I could also get going pretty fast and slow down if I wanted to.

Just once. I don’t have many happy dreams. If they start out promising, something weird happens to make them unenjoyable. Next thing I know I can’t move and bitches are trying to suck out my soul.
thanks for the analysis Vegita, that probably makes sense. As to your flying dream, I’ve never once had a dream where I flew. But I’ve had dreams where I could beat the shit out of hoardes of people and whenever there’s a monster I usually dismember it in a really violent and gory manner. I’ve never felt safe or secure during those dreams though.

Makes sense … these dreams are infrequent … the most frequent dream theme I have is zombie outbreaks where I’m always saving someone and fending off the hordes and leading the rag tag army of survivors
