I was reading a jar of peanut butter, and it said it has 0 trans fat. Then, in the ingredients list it says it has partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. I thought partially hydrogenated = trans fats. I am familiar with some of the loop holes in some label laws, or maybe I am wrong…but how is this possible?
When there’s less than a certain amount of trans fat per the serving size they don’t have to put it on the label. That’s why it’s good that you know what to look for in the ingredients. Stay away from it and get natural peanut butter.

theres a PB i found at the local store, and thats literally the only ingredient. Peanuts and very little bit of salt.
It really looks no other natural Pb i’ve ever seen. It looks kind of like peanuts were thrown into a blender and it turned into peanut mush/juice.
it tastes like you’d think, like youre eating peanuts.[/quote]
Yup thats peanut butter. I actually make my own a mix of peanut, walnut, and almonds, throw in the food processor and walk away. trun it off at the consistancy I want from crunchy to smooth. Then I put it in an old Surge container and throw it in the fridge. You can even add a little splenda, stevia or other sweetner if you like.
