Haha. How far along are you in your schooling?

CS
I’m a junior, but due to switching majors, I’m graduating with my accounting degree in 5 years total. Plus, by graduating in 5 years, I was able to lock in my May 2014 commission date.

Friday, March 30, 2012 - Shoulder Day

Warm up

 1. PVC roll

 2. Lots of stretching

 3. Rotator cuff work

 4. Standing Overhead Press

Set 1 - 45x8
Set 2 - 95x3
Set 3 - 115x3
Set 4 - 135x1
Set 5 - 155x1
Sets 6-7 - 175x2* PR. Not sure by how much, but I’ve never done that before.

NOTES: First set was easy; probably had 3 reps in me, but I cut it there so I could get all the reps on the next set.

 1. Dumbbell Front Raises

3x15x20s

NOTES: Easy. Bumping up to 25s next week.

 1. Cable Side Raises

3x12x10

 1. Reverse Pec Dec Flyes

3x15x85

 1. Seated Dumbbell Shrugs

Set 1 - 50sx15
Set 2 - 60sx15
Set 3 - 70sx15

ENDING NOTES: Not a bad workout. Wasn’t anything special. Left shoulder is kinda banged up, but rest will do it some good. Didn’t get to do barbell shrugs because the douchebag manager was there and I couldn’t use chalk (I went to my commercial gym). Got light back and biceps tomorrow.

I might try to go Finance Corps due its relation to my major, but otherwise I’d like to spec Armored.

I can smell the three plate bench. It’ll be here soon. Very soon.

When you finish a cycle, do you start over straight away with a reduced max, or what?
SamMcLoughin wrote:

Not really sure. I think that I might go to some board work or some work with chains. My best guess is that I would take a deload after my final week of singles and then start back with the 10s, 8s, so on and so forth.

Saturday, March 31, 2012 - Back & Biceps Day

Warm up

 1. PVC roll

 2. Lots of stretching

 3. Pull ups

6 X 5 X BW

NOTES: First 2-3 sets were easy. Last couple got tough at the end, but I found that squeezing my ass cheeks together and bracing my abs tight definitely makes a difference when you’re trying to grind out those last few reps. I’m going to look for 5 sets of 6 next week. Getting real results with my pullups and haven’t dropped a pound.

 1. Wide-grip Low Cable Row

60 X 15
65 X 15
70 X 15

 1. Close-grip Lat Pulldown

60 X 15
2 X 70 X 15

 1. EZ Bar Bicep Curls

3 X 8 X 60

 1. Incline Dumbbell Curls

3 X 10 X 20s

NOTES: I watched a Phil Heath video this morning about how he trains biceps and it interested me. He said that when he was doing incline curls, he would do 5 with his right arm, 5 with his left (all in a row), and then finish out the last 5 in the same fashion. It was pretty cool; I liked doing them this way. Going to use this more often. Got an outrageous pump, too.

 1. Standing Double Cable Curls

3 X 12 X 15

 1. Seated Preacher Curls

3 X 10 X 50

 1. Cross-body Dumbbell Hammer Curls

3 X 12 X 30s

ENDING NOTES: Awesome workout today. I went to my commercial gym and for some reason, I just turned “it” on. Don’t know what it was, but I just got this sudden kick of energy, adrenaline, and rage towards the end of my workout and I felt like I could’ve kept going forever. I was still kinda pissed off when I got to my car and on the drive home, too haha. I think it was just a bunch of built up testosterone just waiting to be released. Oh well, I hope I have more workouts like that. I was able to channel my inner beast.

@CS I remember being more horny than usual as well as having a larger appetite post-meet. Brace yourself.

Measurement update tomorrow.

Could you do me a favour breh? Had a bit of a disastrous day in the gym today with my bench cycle, not sure what to do.

Thanks, I’d appreciate any insight you have.

Sure, man. I’ll take a look at it in a few and give some insight.

Alright, so I’m on the mission for some fat loss. 5-10 lbs TOPS. Maybe looking to get back down to 185. I’ve said this a million times, but I’m going to start getting serious about my cardio. Non lifting days will be distance running in the AM (1-3 miles) and then sprints in the PM.

Also getting my diet down super strict. Cutting out a lot of the crap that I find myself eating every now and then.

CS

New Diet

BREAKFAST
1 whole egg + 3 egg beaters
1 cup oats with 16 oz. 1% milk and Splenda
1/4 cup low fat cheese

LUNCH
Deli sandwich with turkey or roast beef
16 oz. 1% milk

LUNCH #2
1 cup brown rice with 1 tbsp. EVOO
4 oz. grilled chicken breast

POST WORKOUT
1 scoop vanilla whey
1/2 cup ground oats
16 oz. 1% milk
1 tbsp. peanut butter

DINNER
Whatever my mommy makes

BEFORE BED (on training days)
1 scoop vanilla whey
1/2 cup ground oats
16 oz. 1% milk
1 tbsp. peanut butter

This should come out to about 3500-4000 calories. This diet, combined with increased cardio should lead to some fat loss (I hope). Looking to get rid of these love handles haha. As concerned as I am with getting strong as hell, I still want to look good while lifting shit loads of weights, just like Ed did back in the day.
