Hey man, if you are concerned about making weight for the Army APFT work on your neck thickness. You can tape out and be “over weight” We had a fat bastard (around 5 6 weighed 237) tape out with his double chin neck. You can make it. Like Jim Wendler says “Having a big neck is cool”
It just fucking is.
That being said, good results coming off of hard work man! I think you can go far with whatever you pursue. [/quote]
That’s fucking awesome. I already have like a 17.5" neck, but hell, the thicker the better. It’ll make me more awesome.
Sets 1-2 - 45x12
Sets 3-4 - 135x8
Set 5 - 185x3
Set 6 - 205x3
Set 7 - 225x1
Set 8 - 245x1
Sets 9-10 - 265x3* +10 lb. & +2 rep PR.
NOTES: First set was killer. Nailed every rep and got 'em up nice and fast; probably could’ve gone for 5. Second set was kinda shitty. It was slow and I started to get loose, but I got all the reps, so it was a success. Gotta focus on staying tighter.
Paused Close-grip Bench Press
2x3x215* +10 lb. PR.
NOTES: Easy.
Incline Bench Press
2x3x215* +10 lb. PR.
NOTES: I was fried after this. My shoulders weren’t cooperating very well, so I called it there.
Absolute Triceps Hell/Triceps Pushdowns with V-Bar
These were done all in a row, so here’s how it went
40x8
50x8
60x8
70x8
80x8
70x8
60x8
50x8
40x8
NOTES: No rest in between sets except for changing the pin on the pulldown stack. These were hell. Gonna be nice and sore tomorrow.
ENDING NOTES: Well, another 3 PR night, so I can’t complain. I’m finally back at Quads after not being able to go for a week, so it felt good to be home again. Got a college visit on Wednesday so I’m probably not going to be able to make it out, so I’ll be squatting on Thursday, hit shoulders on Friday as usual, and then back and biceps on Saturday.
I’m thinking that I’m gonna give a video tour of Quads for y’all as a treat. Maybe snap a few pics of Ed just to prove that I really do know the man haha.
Also, measurement update on the 1st of the month. Hopin’ for more of dem gaynze.

Prepare for death and squeezing your ass cheeks together harder than you ever have before haha.
It’s been exactly two months since I started training with Ed. So far, so good.

Been looking at some colleges and have mostly narrowed it down to military colleges. Here’s my list:
West Point (obviously my number 1)
North Georgia State College & University
The Citadel
Virginia Military Institute
Norwich University
Texas A&M
Obviously, all of these are military colleges with West Point being the only service academy (require a congressional nomination). The rest of them are public and private universities that don’t require a nomination.
I know you’re interested in the military and college, but I’d still consider other schools. A lot of schools have outstanding ROTC programs. That can give you the more traditional college experience while preparing you for service. I know I much prefer being an ROTC cadet at a regular school than at a military school. I’m not trying to swerve you either way, but I wouldn’t just rule out schools because they don’t have “military institute” after their name.

Thanks for the words. North Georgia is my definite number two. It’s also a regular college, just with an awesome ROTC program. They frats and sororities and everything like the regular college experience. I put in my information into their calculator that would determine my chances of getting in, and it put me into their honors program, so I’m not too worried if I don’t get into West Point. It was also rated the nation’s top ROTC program from 2009-2010. So with this school, I can get the best of both worlds.
The Citadel is awesome man. I got accepted there and even made my 500 dollar deposit but I didn’t end up going. Very cool, great campus, structure, and teaching system. Nothing bad to say about it. I regret not going. Now I am in the National Guard going to community college. Not the same haha. Good luck wherever you go!
